food is okay, But use the bathroom someplace else

The dining area was nice and clean as was the service area. The cost was okay and they do offer a military discount on Mondays. They do rip you off by charging 2.29 for a small refillable soda. The Restrooms are worse than most cow barns and need painting but mostly cleaning.

Very friendly staff and a pretty good salad bar. The food was of the inexpensive sort, high calorie and overcooked on every stand. I ate the salad only, nothing else worth even putting on my plate. Lots of families there and that may be the best market for this restaurant.

This was formerly an Old Country Buffet rebranded a Home Town Buffet. Both are owned by the same parent company. Appparenly, the Home Town brand must be their lower end buffet based on my experience here? Chain buffets are a hit or miss. A few are really good, but most mediocre. I do really enjoy Golden Corrals, but there are... More

It depends on when you go. Sometimes we love it, sometimes we absolutely think it is disgusting. Our last time there, the food had been sitting quite a while and was dried out and cold. The time before that it was great. I would say eat at your own risk and don't expect anything.

Cold food & overcooked home fries. Wish I had ordered an omelette instead of having the "scrambled eggs". I love breakfast, but this was not a good way to start the day.

Their salad bar is pretty good and they do keep it replenished. I've not tried many of their hot foods as I'm quite certain there's not a lot of healthful options when stuff is deep fried or coated in gravy. Their dessert bar appears to be pretty well varied. The waitstaff is hit or miss. On the very few occasions... More

HomeTown Buffet is in the location where Old Country Buffet was. It is under new management. The Ovation Brands chain owns both as well as Country Buffet, Ryan’s, and Fire Mountain. On a daytrip to Portland with a group of 18 friends, we ate at HomeTown Buffet before visiting the Southworth Planetarium at the University of Southern Maine’s Science Building.... More

My friend had never been here to eat so I told her be prepared to eat too much! There are so many choices. They lowered the price since my last visit and you could choose not to have a beverage. That was a good idea as I drink only water and it saved me a few dollars. The food was... More

This is a good buffet option from oriental. I go to this place every time we visit Portland. Very fresh food in most cases. We had one piece of over cooked fried chicken but on the whole it is well worth the 15 dollars per person.
