This is my favorite restaurant! The food is always exquisite. Cozy little out of the way place. You'll be glad you took the trouble to find David's 388. We go a couple of times a year. This time we were seated at a counter overlooking the chefs work their magic. It was really fun to see them create such fabulous... More

We had been wanting to try David's 388 and finally made it recently. I had the spinach salad with goat cheese and almonds. It was fresh with just the right amount of dressing. Several of our group of 5 had the pasta with mushrooms-- what a great dish! The cherry cocktail and service were excellent, too Also, the prices were... More

This is a place we will definitely return to when in the area. We came here with relatives that live locally after eating at David's in Portland proper the night before. This restaurant far exceeded it's downtown sister. Portions were perfectly sized and prep was excellent. Arugula salad was crisp and very fresh, sirloin special was amazing and prices were... More

I ate here with friends after not dining here for over a year. I can't imagine what took me so long to return!. This is a lovely, cozy restaurant, and the food and wine selection is very good. I will definitely be eating here more often. It is a busy restaurant even on week nights, so reservations are recommended. The... More

After reading about this restaurant in the newspaper, we gave it a try. What a surprise! The unpretentious entrance gave way to a delightfully cozy atmosphere, followed by a warm welcome and surprisingly delicious food. On a Wednesday evening, the place was packed and buzzing. Feeling immediately at home, we selected several items from an eclectic, locavore menu. As treats... More

David's 388 has a neighborhood feel, very welcoming and the food is always excellent. I have eaten a few times alone at the bar, and the waitresses/bartender are always friendly. The cheesey rosemary focaccia bread at the beginning of the meal is so tasty!! I especially love their scallop appetizer, carpaccio appetizer and the bacon mac and cheese. I like... More

I go there with friends from the neighborhood and am always impressed. The service is intelligent, the wine choices good, and the food creative and comforting. It's a busy place and it's a small place so tables are tough to get - but once inside you're in for a treat. Probably the smallest bathroom save for the space shuttle.

Whenever we visit Portland we always try to have at least one meal at David's 388. We so enjoy sitting at the counter overlooking the kitchen that on this trip we opted for a Saturday night reservations, as the counter wasn't available Friday. I can't say enough about the delicious burger, and the carpaccio was just what I needed after... More

Friendly, well-versed wait staff is at your beck and call. Ask about daily specials and order them! Both of the David's locations have creative menus where each dish is better than the last. 388 is very small, so you might want to call ahead.
