Description: Newick's recently reopened in South Portland in a new location (formerly TGIFriday's)--near the Maine Mall. Everyone in Maine is happy to have this establishment back! Isay, It is in South Portland, Maine, in the location where TGIFriday's was for several years--740 Broadway. I have been to the "new" Newick's twice and would like to review it. Thank you.

We arrived very late on a Friday night but although the restaurant was empty they accommodated us. Most of us had the lobster roll- large portion size. It was delicious! Another in our party had the fried clams and chips. He really enjoyed this large portion. We found the prices a bit high for the lobster but we were comparing... More

This Newick's location closed. there are two others in NH that are open. When it was opened it was fair for fried seafood.

In my previous review of this place, I mentioned how I missed the old Newick's - this still holds true. There was something about the old Newick's in South Portland that holds something over this one. That being said, I still think the food at this Newick's is really good. I suggest getting either the potato skins or homemade chips... More

Every square inch of floors, walls, tables was sticky. Bathroom smelled like a little Clorox must have been mopped around and left to keep the floor sticky always. Fried food undercooked, that awful uncooked flour taste. Very nice waiter, though; it wasn't his fault.

I enjoy eating at Newick's Restaurant. The staff are always very accommodating and as many times as I have eaten there I have never had a bad meal. I love the Lobster Pie with newburg sauce it is to die for and I usually have either clam chowder or fish chowder and both of them are always delicious. I would... More

My wife and I ate here on a recent business trip to the area. Visiting Maine meant we really had to get some lobster and this location was very close to our hotel. They have a pleasant décor done in a typical New England nautical theme. The live lobsters are in several large tanks in the front of the restaurant.... More

We ordered the seafood medley and lobster. the food was average even the lobster. however, they have a wide selection of oysters. we tried three varieties and it was very good. it was late when we got there but there was still a few people in the restaurant. the service was good. We will be going back to this place.

During our week-long Maine vacation with 10 people in our group, Newick's was the only meal that disappointed. We had dinner here on a Sunday evening and the place was empty. We saw plenty of staff but the service was very slow. Two of us had fried lobster - it was terrible - over cooked and heavily battered. The chowder... More

This was my first visit and I look forward to coming back. I ordered the lobster with crab legs combo and it was cooked to perfection. The chunky New England clam chowder was the best I've ever eaten and you must try it! The place was very clean and the service was friendly.
