Description: Newick's recently reopened in South Portland in a new location (formerly TGIFriday's)--near the Maine Mall. Everyone in Maine is happy to have this establishment back! Isay, It is in South Portland, Maine, in the location where TGIFriday's was for several years--740 Broadway. I have been to the "new" Newick's twice and would like to review it. Thank you.

Every square inch of floors, walls, tables was sticky. Bathroom smelled like a little Clorox must have been mopped around and left to keep the floor sticky always. Fried food undercooked, that awful uncooked flour taste. Very nice waiter, though; it wasn't his fault.

I enjoy eating at Newick's Restaurant. The staff are always very accommodating and as many times as I have eaten there I have never had a bad meal. I love the Lobster Pie with newburg sauce it is to die for and I usually have either clam chowder or fish chowder and both of them are always delicious. I would... More

My wife and I ate here on a recent business trip to the area. Visiting Maine meant we really had to get some lobster and this location was very close to our hotel. They have a pleasant décor done in a typical New England nautical theme. The live lobsters are in several large tanks in the front of the restaurant.... More

We ordered the seafood medley and lobster. the food was average even the lobster. however, they have a wide selection of oysters. we tried three varieties and it was very good. it was late when we got there but there was still a few people in the restaurant. the service was good. We will be going back to this place.

During our week-long Maine vacation with 10 people in our group, Newick's was the only meal that disappointed. We had dinner here on a Sunday evening and the place was empty. We saw plenty of staff but the service was very slow. Two of us had fried lobster - it was terrible - over cooked and heavily battered. The chowder... More

This was my first visit and I look forward to coming back. I ordered the lobster with crab legs combo and it was cooked to perfection. The chunky New England clam chowder was the best I've ever eaten and you must try it! The place was very clean and the service was friendly.

A good assortment of seafood prepared how you like it. Since the business returned and relocated to their new location close to the Maine Mall in South Portland, they increased the atmosphere along with prices, but have seemed to decrease portion size. I guess we all need to cut back on fried foods, so the portions are ok, but not... More

First time to the portland newicks resturant and it was great as always in the newington nh location. We had dinner with my daughter, her bf and my younger grandaughter. My husband and I love seafood and this place was simply awesome. Between us all we had clam chowder, fish chowder, clam strips, haddock chunks, whole clams, oysters, fries, onion... More

We wanted to try some of the famous lobster and chose this place. It was very odd service as it took a very long time for our chowder to arrive and almost immediately the server came out with our main courses and just plonked them down and walked off. The chowder was good and my lobster roll was good. My... More

We came before 5 pm to have a light dinner and to take advantage of the $1.00 per raw oyster Wednesday Special. We sat in the bar area and Sammy the Bartender/Waiter was terrific. We asked for two drinks, a dozen oysters and a bowl of their thick clam chowder to begin. We also asked for the small portion of... More
