Fantastic for Lunch

One of the best places to go in South Portland. Great for lunch and be sure to sit on the deck...... Food is good and its just a nice place to go and the people are great. If your a boater you can go by boat. Never had a bad meal but again, I take people mostly for lunch.

I live in South Portland and keep hoping that Saltwater Grill will get better. It does not. The food scene in South Portland is great and Saltwater has an amazing view and is on the water, but continues to have marginal food and service. A couple of other restaurants on the water have re-modeled and have an amazing new menu,... More

Busy Saturday with many graduation parties so slower than usual. Waitress distracted at best so made it less enjoyable as never knew when she'd back. Food warm at best and just ok. Would avoid busy weekends especially if lot full.

Beautiful restaurant on the docks in South Portland with a great view of Portland and the harbor. We sat in front of a big stone fireplace on a snowy night, warm, friendly, great food and service. Thanks to Phil and Nigel for taking good care of us.

Ordered very different dish of grilled brussels sprouts and cauliflower over pasta with lobster. Lobster meat was tough, and usually find this in Portland because they use it all, the tail and the tough tissue. Portland lobster never meets my expectations. Go figure. It was tasty but would not recommend. Beer and wine were good. Service was mediocre on a... More

I was expecting more from this restaurant based on the reviews. On arrival I was impressed with the view of Portland from their large windows and the general feel of the restaurant. We got seated in a comfortable booth and the atmosphere was nice. The service was average, nothing particularly exceptional. I had to ask for a spoon to eat... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Greater Portland area. It has great food and service and certainly some of the best views of the Portland skyline.

I am not sure how I have missed this restaurant. When I was the GM of a couple of boutique hotels in Portland, I sent hundreds of people on their way to sites and restaurants throughout the area, but sadly never to Salt Water Grille because I did not know of its existence. We arrived early for a Saturday night... More

I stopped in after work on a friday night when they were having a $1 raw oyster special, and I put away 3 dozen oysters (before meeting up with friends at Long Grain). They had house made hot sauce that was out of this world that acted as the perfect mignonette. The next day I stopped in for a quick... More
