Nice local place

Local place, wood paneled on the inside, decent bar and largish outside terrace on 2 sides of the building which overlooks the harbor. Good service, good oysters, fair priced wine and nice ambiance. Wouldn't drive 15 miles to get there but if you're in Damarascotta or environs drop in.

Sunday is music day and is wonderful for all ages. Arrive by sea or land. Dockside is fun with a variety of boat styles, from kayaks to local vintage wood hulls to fiberglass runabouts. The action on Sunday is on the music deck. Wonderful. Great assortment of beer and hard cider. Food great. The service is managed by a leading... More

First of all the location is lovely. Old style building perched on Christmas Cove. Burgees hanging from the rafters from yacht clubs all over the world. Very yachty if you will. The lunch was great. The fish and chips was wonderful. Panko battered haddock fried to perfection. Hand cut fries. The haddock tacos were delicious. A good balance of fresh... More

We boated over to the Coveside for lobster rolls on the porch. The meat was freshly picked and the roll was huge. The price seems high until you see the size of it. The food and the setting were well worth it. We have been here twice this season and been well satisfied. We will be back.

Beautiful spot. As the only restaurant on the island, they definitely have a captive audience and the food suffers for it...they haven't changed their menu in years.

Today we went to Coveside for lunch. It was a hot Saturday afternoon in July and we decided to try it even though the reviews were often 3.5 stars. We were seated on the balcony and our waitress was very attentive and knowledgable about the menu...good start. The views are stunning. We placed our orders and waited. Out drinks were... More

We arrived at the perfect time. It wasn't crowded yet and by the time we got our food the music was just starting. We had a lobster roll, while lobster, chowder, hamburgers, raw oysters, calamari, grilled chicken Caesar salad and a lobster quesadilla. Everything was good minus the Caesar salad which had a strange dressing on it. The food took... More

Second time we've been here. The first was two years ago. Christmas Cove is gorgeous, looking out towards the Damariscotta River as it meets the sea and the Boothbay peninsula. We live 90 minutes away and it is a destination for lunch on the Maine coast. On both occasions the service has been very good. The food is good here... More

Even though this place had very good food, and the atmosphere was wonderful with great weather and live music, it only gets 4 out of 5 from me. The service was incredibly slow. The waitress was very nice and attentive when she was with us, but it took 15 mins to get our drinks. Then it took 45 minutes to... More

We visited this restaraunt for our evening meal after driving past earlier in the day. The setting is spectacular, we sat outside overlooking the cove. Unfortnately the view was as good as it got! Service was very slow and inatentive, we had to repeat our order details a couple of times because our waiter was too busy chatting to friends... More
