Best in South Bristol

Coveside Restaurant has a casual, but delightful, ambience. The service is friendly, and the seafood offerings seldom disappoint. The setting on Christmas Cove is perfect - for lunch or dinner. Lobster, of course, and good "baskets". But if Halibut is on the menu don't miss it!

We ate here on the recommendation of our inn keeper. We were not disappointed. The location is right on Christmas Harbor and has a great view of the open water as well as the harbor. Plan on going at sunset and sitting on the deck if it is warm enough. The staff was very good, as was the food. If... More

Had lunch today at Coveside Inn. Not only was the service slow but was very surprised that they allowed at least 5 different people to bring their dogs with them onto the patio passing customers as they were eating their lunch. One person even tied their dog up for several minutes in the doorway, making it difficult to get through... More

Yup, the location is spectacular. But more than that, Coveside is the kind of place you expect to find here on the water in Maine. While waiting for my husband to sail in from Brunswick (they have moorings), I ordered a dark and stormy in the very cool bar -- draped in yacht club burgees from around the world. (Later... More

Sunday is music day and is wonderful for all ages. Arrive by sea or land. Dockside is fun with a variety of boat styles, from kayaks to local vintage wood hulls to fiberglass runabouts. The action on Sunday is on the music deck. Wonderful. Great assortment of beer and hard cider. Food great. The service is managed by a leading... More

Local place, wood paneled on the inside, decent bar and largish outside terrace on 2 sides of the building which overlooks the harbor. Good service, good oysters, fair priced wine and nice ambiance. Wouldn't drive 15 miles to get there but if you're in Damarascotta or environs drop in.

First of all the location is lovely. Old style building perched on Christmas Cove. Burgees hanging from the rafters from yacht clubs all over the world. Very yachty if you will. The lunch was great. The fish and chips was wonderful. Panko battered haddock fried to perfection. Hand cut fries. The haddock tacos were delicious. A good balance of fresh... More

We boated over to the Coveside for lobster rolls on the porch. The meat was freshly picked and the roll was huge. The price seems high until you see the size of it. The food and the setting were well worth it. We have been here twice this season and been well satisfied. We will be back.

Beautiful spot. As the only restaurant on the island, they definitely have a captive audience and the food suffers for it...they haven't changed their menu in years.

Today we went to Coveside for lunch. It was a hot Saturday afternoon in July and we decided to try it even though the reviews were often 3.5 stars. We were seated on the balcony and our waitress was very attentive and knowledgable about the menu...good start. The views are stunning. We placed our orders and waited. Out drinks were... More
