I dined at the pickup cafe twice during my stay in the area. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and I love the concept of fresh, local food and drinks. The menu was varied and inventive without being at all pretentious. Culinarily the best thing that's happened to that town on my opinion. But the overall vibe of the place... More

I took my family to eat here. The service was speedy and friendly. We didn't wait long for our food which was delicious. It was very fresh and cooked to perfection. We couldn't have been happier.

Having been a working chef most of my life, I can appreciate the little things that make a simple restaurant into a jewel. The menu is on the small side, but reflects a wide range of expertise, and available products. The menu also morphs from day to day, week to week. It's easy for a restaurant to discover a hit... A restaurant that is also a CSA and helps local farmers. Very cool setting. Friendly staff. Incredibly tasty breakfast.. I had the Corned Beef and vegies. Could use a sign on the road.

Delightful eatery in a town devoid of many choices. Everything was fresh and delicious. We sat outside and enjoyed our drinks then decided to stay for dinner. Glad we did. We had the dumplings, soup of the day, hamburger and fish tacos. Everything was exceptional. We especially loved the carrot cake with cardamom and lemon glass. Nice selection of local... More

Great food; great service. So glad we passed through! Fresh ingredients. Fit for foodies! Took awhile to get our entrees but it was withy the wait for sure. Six of us all loved everything we ordered.

We went here for the first time with some friends and was very impressed with the menu. The burgers are great with fresh local beef. They also have local and state beers and wine. It isn't huge but the food is great.

We come here often for breakfast and for dinner. The service is always very friendly and personable, and the food is really good. It's wonderful to have this place in Skowhegan, where upscale food is to hard to come. We love the corned beef hash, biscuits and gravy and the eggs benedict I had this morning (in the picture) were... More

Our starters were good, great Empenatas, the pork for a main course was served cold. The side of rice was not cooked , crunch,it is not that hard to cook rice. Unless hard rice was part of the dish?

Great addition to the Skowhegan food scene. They use locally-sourced food whenever possible, from farmers you know. The ambience is rustic - a former jail garage! - but the service is friendly. The food prep is very good by those who care about what you are eating.
