Nice pub for a cold drink

I really liked this little pub. Well, its not quite so little, there is ample room - indoor and outdoor. The building itself looks like it is about to fall into the river below. Great atmosphere. My mate and I enjoyed a few cold beers served straight at the counter. Local beers were very nice... read more

The food was good, not great, I was disappointed that they don't serve beer battered fries anymore even though they are on the menu, they also didn't have the advertised prime rib. Overall it will be a while before I got back, there are better restraunts in town.

I am on my way to visit one of my favorite restaurants in my hometown of Skowhegan, Maine tonight. In the summer it is a great spot to sit on the deck overlooking the rushing river. In the winter, it is cozy inside with a great pub atmosphere. Located in an old mill of some sort, the brick walls, local... More

I really wanted to like this place as I like the classic pub setting, with an on-the-water bonus. Our waitress was attentive, fast and nice, but the food was overpriced and simply poor. I had the Guinness beef stew which was a thin stew with a scoop of mashed potatoes plopped in the center, and a pretty small portion. The... More

Very welcoming staff and ownership. Food was good and draught beer selection was perfect, service was great, ambiance was superior to most restaurants and pubs.

A bunch of Ladies & I eat out each month. Usually there is about a dozen of us. We are professionals.... Accountants, Nurses, Bus Drivers, Business Owners, etc. We also ride our own motorcycles. When we called to make a reservation for a Wednesday evening we requested one of the deck ends so that we could all be together. We... More

The D, General Manager at old mill pub, responded to this review

We do apologize for any miscommunication. Our policy, as the outside deck is very sought after by locals and visitors from all around, is that we do not take call ahead seating (reservations) for our outside seating. It is a first come first serve basis. We try our absolute hardest to accommodate groups of all sizes for our deck. Some... More

Beautifully located. Pub style. Friendly and attentive clean service. It was a batchlorette party so we had requested and we're promised live music. The music never arrived and we weren't ever given an explanation after complaining. Waitresses were very knowledgeable and helpful. Gratuity already added into our check. Waitresses would've gotten a larger tip but we thought that was rude.... More

I went for my birthday with my wife. We were seated right away on the outside deck. Our server quickly brought our drinks. I had an excellent local beer , my wife ordered a Kahlua sombrero. Her sombrero was sour as if made with sour milk. She is not one to complain but just set it aside and ordered a... More
