Nice Local Place

We stopped for lunch on Sunday -- the only place open in town. The decor is quite dated, but things improved from there. Nice friendly server, and good food. We had a crab cake appetizer and claim chowder. The crab cakes were quite good (a 4 out of 5) and the chowder was good but no better (a 3... read more

My wife and I and our 26 year old twin daughters found this restaurant Saturday May 9th, 2015. The décor was typical small town Maine, but enjoyable to look at. The service was excellent. Three of us had lobster stew and one had clam chowder. The portions were perfect the food absolutely delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone... More

Food was good, they had just opened for the season so no patrons. The lady running the restaurant was very pleasant.

I stopped here because it was open and I was hungry and to be frank - I liked the name. I almost turned around at the dated decor but, again, I was hungry so I stuck around. I ended up ordering a burger (not a fan of seafood) and it was delicious and perfect. The service was perfect and while... More

Service was good. Very quaint and a nice little spot to have a drink and an appetizer. Beautifully presented. We had shrimp cocktail and a couple of drinks. Best celery I have ever had in a Bloody Mary. I thought the price was a bit high for what we got, but it was a lovely little place and I would... More

Driving around Mount Desert Island on a recent trip to Acadia National Park, we found the Lighthouse Restaurant in Seal Harbor which looked like an interesting place for lunch. It was the worst decision of our trip. The prices were high, so we expected a nice lunch. We ordered a "fresh" crabmeat sandwich. The rye bread was 1/4" thick non-remarkable... More

We stopped for lunch while we were driving around the island. The food was fine, nothing special. I thought the prices were a little high for what it was. We had a nice lunch.

We were very disappointed in the Lighthouse Restaurant. The food was mediocre, portions were small and the service was decidedly lacking. We had to find our utensils on the next table as our waitress served the meals and walked away without providing utensils. She also did not check to see if we were satisfied with the meals and did not... More

That's what they told us, and they were right. Presentation was outstanding. Price was comparable to other restaurants and service was professional, if just a little lacking in friendliness. Very quaint little town and yummy food. So close to Blackwoods Campground too. Much easier than driving back into Bar Harbour.

Old fashioned restaurant/bar right on the main street in tiny beautiful seal harbor. It is a pity that someone who cares about the quality of the food does not own the restaurant. I had fried haddock that was fishy and bitter. My husband had a greek salad that was completely inedible. The onion soup was made from a powder soup... More
