THE best restaurant in Maine (and New England) in my humble opinion. It is like "going home" for dinner (or lunch) The baked haddock dinners are so delicious, but anything and everything served at the Spurwink Kitchen is! Delightful ambience and great service make it my very favorite.

This restaurant has been a favorite of mine since the "old lady" cooked fabulous meals and deserts. That was over twenty years ago. Don took it over and cooks solid New England fare. I've tried all his dishes over time and have been very pleased. Sometimes he attempts to expand his cooking "container" to more modern tastes and fails. Its... More

When on vacation in Maine we always try to get to Spurwinks. For an appetizer, clam chowder with corn, and turkey minestrone soup, meal baked haddock and a New England Boiled Dinner, dessert lemon meringue pie and raspberry apple crisp, all were delicious. On Friday and Saturday nights they have piano music. Uncle Don and all his employees make you... More

I'm sorry to say that I agree with one of the earlier reviewers who said that the lobster in the lobster roll was watery. Perhaps we didn't order right (some of the diners near us appeared to be locals) but this was not one of the better places we chose. We evn tried Indian pudding and didn't particularly like it.... We always enjoy dinner at Uncle Don's! It's good comfort food and pleasant service from a staff who have been there for a few years. Highly recommend the lobster mac and cheese and the baked haddock. Uncle Don comes out to greet his guests. Save room for dessert - the pies and crisps are great! The piano player provides enjoyable... More

We were looking for a restaurant to eat at. We just happened to go by Spurwink Country Kitchen. We figured we had never eaten there so we would try it. When we looked at the menu, we thought the prices were high. We decided to stay and try it. After we ordered our food, it took at least a 1/2... More

Hi there .... we've been driving by this place for years & wanting to eat there. Finally, the stars aligned and we did. It's called Uncle Don's Spurwink Country Kitchen now, and Uncle Don told us that when he bought it, he didn't *want* to change it. The menu is chock full of comfort foods, turkey & stuffing, meatloaf, mac... More

The turkey salad plate was a little routine, but the two crust lemon pie was sublime. Always enjoy a meal at Uncle Don's. He comes out to greet all of his guests periodically, a nice touch.

My aunt used to stop here with me for dinner and pies when I was a teenager. I was delighted to find it still in business under new management. We arrived a bit early for lunch on a Sunday morning but were welcomed in out of the cold rain and the four of us had wonderful desserts, which lived up... More
