Ate at Garofalo's on 7/3/14. This was our 4th time at this restaurant and have had better experiences. Waitress was great and the chowder was excellent. My calamari was fantastic but then the issues. They served my wife her risotto (outstanding) but they brought me the wrong meal. I was told they were sorry and it would be about 5... More

Had a chance to have both dinner and breakfast here. It's pre-season, so staff is still being trained and a bit slow, but the food is fantastic. The lobster eggs Benedict was the best lobster dish I had on this visit to Maine.

Stopped by this restaurant two weeks ago on a business dinner and was very pleased with the food, wonderful atmosphere and great service. Had a wonderful calamari appetizer with a hint of onion, wine and vinegar which was tender, flavorful and simple fabulous. I then had the seafood Seafood Pasta Aglio e Oilo with hand-made pasta that was just perfect.... More

The inn itself is very quaint. They have a number of alcoves for guests to hang at, or eat dinner. The bar is small, but adequate - they were serving free cheese & crackers and other munchies. The main dining room was pleasant - a large square, well decorated to go with the inn. We sat in the back and... More

We rented a house down the street from this inn, and walked over for brunch. The first time, I had the lobster eggs benedict (picture), which was a highlight. The eggs were poached perfectly and the lobster meat was a great twist on the classic brunch dish. The second time, I ordered the italian scramble which was rather bland and... More

We have come here for the last time. We first called for a reservation. They said they actually dont take reservations but they could put our name on the list. We arrived and checked in and was told it was a half hour wait. So we grabbed a drink at the bar. An hour later, we asked a rude and... More

We had brunch here as part of a wedding celebration, and whereas the restaurant was nice and cozy; the food was plain, unimaginative, and boring. The staff served scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, roasted potatoes, and an assortment of breads. The potatoes were cold and/or not fully cooked. The English muffins were over-toasted and hard. The coffee was just... More

If you live in southern Maine, you are missing something special if you haven't been to Garofalo's Restaurant at the Higgins Beach Inn. The Inn is in a quaint and quiet oceanfront neighborhood. The small beach is between two beautiful peninsulas: Cape Elizabeth and Prout's Neck. Plan an extra half hour or so before dinner to take a stroll on... More

Wonderful place. High end food and service within a cozy atmosphere. We go every year and enjoy a stroll along the ocean after our dinner. Always a wonderful night!

We have been to this quaint spot before. This time our food was better than ever! We had risotto and Seabass entrees with a sauted pear dessert--quite nice. The wine list is adequate but uninspired. The service was enthusiastic.
