If you are up for a California/Mexican treat. look no further. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere relaxed and the food yummy. Try ALL the sauces. I love the burrito's and the mexican iced drinks.

El El Frijoles is a fun restaurant. My favorite dish is the carnitas tacos. You order inside, and then eat outside at one of the picnic tables under the trees, or inside a screened porch if it is raining or the bugs are too fierce.

I've had El El Frijoles' food three times. The first time I was blown away by a cheese quesadilla, the second time I was enthralled by their service, and the third time I spent $90 and lamented I didn't buy more to bring home with me. It's fair to say that their food is the food equivalent of sex, except... More

While this 'restaurant' gets a 5-star rating on Tripadvisor, we were very disappointed with the food and the location. It's basically self service with picnic tables under trees. The day we went it was sunny but we had to retreat to the screened shed because of the mosquitos. I ordered a lobster taco and iced tea. There is no alcohol... More

A small facility where our party was placed into a shed like structure. OK and it was clean. WE served ourselves from a table which had been set up by staff. Very surprised at the high quality of the food. Not a big fan of Frijole type foods but these dishes were very good! Highly recommend a stop by for... More

What I can recommend here is the hand-dipped ice cream. Absolutely delicious! The service was extremely friendly and the other menu items (observed as other patrons ordered/ate looked delicious). The only reason this is not a 5-star review is that I did not order more food.

Fortunately it is very good. They specialize in Burritos. I have had the carnitas version several times. It is 7.95 and is a meal by itself. It has plenty of meat to go with all the rice and beans. They have several salsas. I also have tried the spicy lobster burrito for $14.95. Save your money and go with one... More

We stopped by this place on our way from Bar Harbor to Deer Isle. Had the Spicy Lobster Burrito, with some chips and salsa from their fresh salsa bar. Also one of their Agua Frescas, this one was made with coffee beans from 44 North, and it was very refreshing. The person that I ordered from described it as "very... More

Do not be prejudiced. Blue Hill can do great Mexican food! Inventive menu. I really enjoyed my crab quesadilla. The lobster tacos were great. More standard Mexican fare was fresh and delicious. Agua frescas, alcohol is BYOB. Nice picnic tables to eat at with small playground for the kids.

If you are visiting the Blue Hill peninsula and have a family, you can all eat here a lot less expensively than a typical sit-down restaurant. Typical Mexican food but made with the freshest ingredients and a big variety of sauces to choose from. Outdoor picnic tables and an indoor screened porch room if that's your choice. Friendly owners. Go.
