The Wormwood closed early in 2014, and the long time owners have retired and placed the building up for sale. Many patrons now go to the establishment net store which is quite good.

This place has the worst clam chowder I've ever eaten. It was about 3/4 butter, 1/8 milk, and 1/8 everything else. I've read on another site that one person would prefer to eat Van deCamp's frozen fish sticks than eat here, and I would say that I probably agree. This place is pitiful.

I am from Maine haven't lived here for years, but I always try to make it a point to stop in for a bite when I do visit. It's a very quant little restaurant in Camp Ellis, Maine (Saco) and just a minute from the jetty which is the inlet for the Saco River. When I go I always invite... More

This seemed like a good place to eat, but then you are seated and if your party is larger than 4 people (we had 15) your waitress can't remember your order. Also when the order came it was incorrect! She then has the odasity to start putting entrees down on the table and telling us to figure it out?? The... More

I used to come here every summer with my family. We haven't been able to make it to Saco every year for the past few years, but I still sometimes make the 2 hour trek just to dine here annually. Their garlic bread is undoubtedly my all time favorite. So garlicy, buttery, and juicy, I just wish I had the... More

Escargot, fish and chips, surf and turf (med rare)with lobster. Escargots very good could have used a crusty bread. Otherwise good. Dinner arrived lona waited for me to make sure my steak was... Wormwoods has been in Camp Ells for what seems to be forever and I doubt it has ever been decorated in the past 25 years! The food is very average, service was poor and the place is dirty and in dire need of renovations. The restaurant had a musty odor to it which was off putting. Having lived in Camp... More

this is one of our favorite places to eat in Maine. It's been there forever but the food is still great. You must try the broccoli salad, sounds strange but it's excellent. The usual lobster and seafood dishes are great and the strawberry shortcake was the best all year. Go for a stroll on the breakwater for the views after... More

New to the area. Friends took us to this restaurant. I thought we were going to Huet's where we have always had fabulous food. Walked into Wormwoods. Smelled like pee. This place is way past time for a complete remodel. No air conditioning so it was hot. Our waitress who works as a social worker during the day was less... More

...and stress the first syllable. If you are a fan of deep fried seafood (all coming from the same fryer who's grease may have been changed last week) and inflated prices, then this place is your Valhalla. The times and contemporary approaches to food preparation have passed this place by. thirty years ago Wormwood's was a fun outing. Now it... More
