Great Poutine!

My Philadelphia son's visiting and was jonesing for poutine, considering how comparatively closer to Quebec Glen Cove/Rockland is than Philly. We've been back several times in the last two weeks. John does a great job on poutine, just as he does with everything else we've had at JJ's. A down to... read more

My son and I are at JJ's Snack Shack a couple of times this week and were more than pleasantly surprised both times. The menu was extensive and demonstrated more variety than I've ever seen given hamburgers, hot dogs, and seafood. Between our two visits we sampled four different dishes, and found each to be equally exceptional. My son said... More

This is by far one of the best burgers that I have ate! We stopped here on our vacation from the Texas heat, a state that knows their BBQ and burgers. This place beats a lot of the burger joints back home! I ordered the Bacon & Blue Cheese burger and it was EXCELLENT and had wonderful flavor! It took... More

I had the opportunity to stop by JJ's on my way to Camden with family. The food is terrific! The Juicy Lucy was the best burger I've had! Simple place with a huge menu. Well worth it!

I stopped into JJ's Snack Shack today after a long drive down Rt. 1 from Machias. I was staying overnight in Rockport and wanted something nearby that I could order take-out to bring out to the Marshall Point Lighthouse in Port Clyde to catch the sunset. The menu was varied...something for everyone. Seafood, burgers, 9-inch hotdogs, ice cream, hand-cut fries,... More

My husband and I stopped on the way thru Rockland. There were a couple people already there so I knew our order would not be first. However, we waited nearly an hour for a hamburger and fries! Yes, it was good but not worth the wait. I wasn't expecting to wait that long.

Just picked JJ's at random after finding that the new BBQ place we had wanted to go to in Rockland had been turned into yet another lobster shack. Best thing that could have happened to us. JJ's menu is not huge, but it covers a good variety of tastes; from standard munchy crushers like hot dogs, burgers and fries; to... More

We are fortunate enough to be staying around the corner from this snack shack where the food is honestly better than many higher end establishments offering similar fare (burgers, fried clams, lobster roll). If you don't mind eating at their picnic table, you can eat there - or call ahead and do take out. The fried clams were amazing -... More

We were introduced to JJ's Snack Shack by a long-time friend we were visiting in Maine. Our meal did not disappoint! My husband and I split an order of the fried clams and a lobster roll and each had coleslaw. Everything was wonderful! I think the clams were my favorite because I so rarely have them. JJ's fried clams were... More
