Shepherd's Pie in Rockport Maine

Had dinner here last week after passing it by while driving around the area. Hadn't heard of it otherwise. View of the harbor. Very trendy looking place. Tin ceiling, great bar, refurbished site. I had a special cocktail....their take on a Manhattan. Very nice. They also had a nice selection og... read more

The restaurant was good but nothing special. My burger was good but average, my husband had the bbq local chicken but again just average. Very loud and noisy place but the service was friendly.

We enjoy coming here spur of the moment for drinks and appetizers. The bar offers superb drinks from Dennis, good wine offerings and beer selections. We also enjoy the creative menu with my favorite being the clam tacos and the chicken liver pâté as an appetizer. The atmosphere is pleasant and comfortable like a neighborhood gathering place. The waitstaff are friendly... More

First, why take a delicate and tasty soft shell crab and overwhelm it with screamingly spiced sauce? If they insist on such spice in some dishes, why not label the dish instead of ambushing the customer? Second, why serve a salad, said by the server (who was asked) to have dressing, on which the dressing cannot be seen or tasted?... More

Your taste buds will enjoy a great experience. The meal was delicious from beginning to end. We started with a special app for the evening that started off the meal with a bang, potato confit. It was an unexpected delight. My chicken was cooked to perfection with wonderful flavors melded together artfully. The pork chop my partner was melt in... More

Shepherd's Pie was a great find in Rockport. Rather than eating at Natalie's in Camden, we were told to eat here. Glad we did. Great homey atmosphere and food was delightful. Great contemporary food preparation. Really enjoyed our seafood dishes.

This has become our favorite Rockport restaurant and one of our best experiences in Maine. A few reviewers have complained about "spicy" food, but our view is that their preparations are not typical of the often-bland taste preferences of New England and the Midwest. So if "piquant" is not in your dining vocabulary, you might be disappointed here. However, for... More

I used to love it here but since they removed their delicious fish and chips everything on here is just incredibly spicy. I mean like a 9 or 10 hot. The red pepper dip inedible and the side dishes too. Great cocktails and atmosphere bit please lighten up on the scorch factor.

We ended up at Shepherd's Pie because this was the only restaurant open on a Sunday in January (my birthday). Although our seat in the window was drafty and cold, the overall atmosphere was pleasant. Great bar! We asked for a sample of a beer on tap and waited almost 20 minutes before it finally arrived... no explanation, but a... More

I'll start by saying that the food was good but not great. It was way too salty for everyone at the table. My medium burger was made of good quality meat but too thick, charred on the outside and rare on the inside. With the bun I couldn't even fit it in my mouth (and I have a big mouth).... More
