My wife and I enjoyed a superb meal, accompanied by top-flight service, at Shepherd's Pie last night. The ambience was fun and relaxed, with beautiful views of Rockport Harbor as a backdrop. My wife had their signature scallops and pork bellies, and I had the namesake shepherd's pie. Both were outstanding. The lobster ceviche appetizer was as good as any... More

This restaurant always pleases me. I brought my family from out of states, from three states, actually, and all were very happy with their meal. The food here is excellent, and the menu is original and well done. The pork belly and scallops entree was the prize winner of the evening. The restaurant is crowded, even on this summer Tuesday... Been there three years in a row. Food and ambience is excellent. Best side dish is the broiled mussels cooked and served in a traditional iron skillet (seasonal). This year I had the Shepard's Pie. I am not often a comfort food eater, but it was a foggy night and this was perfect. Everyone at our table of 6 loved... More

Our food was delicious. Clam tacos were fresh and was just as good as we expected. We splurged on angel food cake desert and it was light and perfect. Not so crazy about the Tarragon Martini but had to try it. We will definately return.

Been here many times over the years. Our numerous visits have been enjoyable thanks to good food and equally good service. However, last night, our visit was spoiled by witnessing a moderately disturbing situation. Our dinner was very good as usual. We ordered bread pudding for dessert. There is an open kitchen. So most phases of meal preparation are visible.... More

I've tried Shepherd's Pie twice before. I hear that everyone likes it here, but that's probably because it's one of the only restaurants around the area. I don't like most of the items on the menu, but then, I am very picky. I don't like oysters, and there were two on the menu. Pork belly is not something I'd choose... More

The service was friendly and atmosphere nice but the food was not good. I am not picky at all but I got pork belly and scallop skewers and the sauce thy was on them was so overpowering I didn't finish. The cauliflower also had a overpowering sauce and my boyfriend burger tasted very meaty in a bad way with yet... More

Attractive and interesting menu and the food lived up to the descriptions. But don't go here unless you are willing to be bombarded by loud techno-pop music. Sorry, we won't be back

We have a 2nd home in Owls Head and go to Shepherd's Pie at least 6-8 times a year. It has always been great. However this last time it was not up to its usual standard. The fish was overcooked and dry and the black beans and rice were inedible (two of us at the table ordered the beans and... More

There are creative blends of ingredients that keep your tastebuds constantly surprised and delighted. The Duck PB&J, for instance, and the pork steak, both had a lot going on and it was all good. If you're a beef lover, the rib eye in chimmichurra sauce is not to be missed. There were some puzzling choices in restaurant management; for example,... More
