Went for lunch. Fried clams are my usual order. They are always fresh, lightly breaded and not greasy. Service is friendly. Very simple, casual setting that is comfortable. The only issue is parking. Limited out front. There is parking in the back, stairway from the back is steep and somewhat difficult for older patrons to use.

Finding a parking spot near the Cafe can be a problem, even in the off-season. We had to park out in back, and dodge some construction vehicles. This is not normally a problem, but if you need handicapped access, forget it. The Rockland Cafe is a typical informal diner where you sit at any open table and order up. Signs... More

We ate here for lunch, tried a couple of beers which we really enjoyed, had the mussels, and an eggplant pannini. The mussels tasted a bit bitter but were pretty good otherwise, and the eggplant was tasty. We also had some handcut truffle fries which were delicious. Service was excellent and menu had a lot to choose from.

Being in Maine for the first time, I wanted all the seafood I could get. What I got at the Rockland Cafe was great food, good prices, fun atmosphere. I went twice, I liked it that much.

We had heard many good reviews of The Rockland Cafe andhad been several years back for lunch. Visited again today and food was amazing! I had the french toast with bacon - very tasty as french toast goes and my husband had the Lobster BLT and raved about it. The sandwich was huge so be sure to come hungry!!! This... More

It's not gourmet or cutting-edge, just good diner-type Maine food. It's one of those places that you go to because there is no pretentiousness...you go in, look over the menu, order, eat and that's that. The menu has a variety of items from a whole boiled lobster to a turkey club and delicious blueberry pie. It can get crowded but... More

The Rockland Cafe has almost too many great choices on their menu but the one that keeps us coming back is the seafood chowder - clams, haddock, shrimp, lobster, scallops in a broth that is rich but light. Delicious.

We stopped in for dinner on a Monday night - almost everything is closed on Mondays in Rockland except this was one of the few restaurants open. This is clearly a family run restaurant that is very much like a diner - no frills, but very good prices especially for lobster dinners. The service was great and people were super... More

the quantity of food for the price paid cannot be beat. The triple lobster was my beau's favorite meal! I'd recommend; nothing fancy, diner atmosphere, good value.

Wanted to get away from the more touristy restaurants in Rockland so we started walking north through town and stopped at the Rockland Cafe & Bakery since the menu looked good (plus, all the specials they had posted outside the restaurant sounded appealing). Other members of our traveling party had the same idea as they joined us not long after.... More
