Lobster and chowder

We stopped in for dinner on a Monday as we saw a lobster/Seafood chowder special. The lobsters were 1 1/4 lb and were sweet and tender. The seafood chowder was excellent and we heard it was the grandfather's recipe. This chowder surpasses my previous favorite at the No-name in Boston. It was a... read more

We paid 22 dollars for the Broiled seafood combo. It all came to us mushy. The shrimp looked like the rubbery small ones that come from tin cans they use in salads. The scallops smelled strong became sick from them. The service was horrible and the ambience low life. Will never step in this place again.

I ordered the combo steamed seafood dish. The shrimp were tiny and cooked until mushy. There was also a hair in my food. The waitress did not care that my food was mush and told me that was how it was supposed to be. Lobster mac and cheese was just not good. My husband had the lobster roll and did... More

We stopped in mid afternoon for a lobster dinner. This is an old style local restaurant. We ordered the steamed lobster dinner with fries, coleslaw and roll. The lobster was fine but nothing special. Fries were soggy. It was just OK for us.

We stopped here on two occasions for a late lunch and left happy both times. The steamers are terrific. Tender, large, flavorful and little grit. Their crab sandwich, full belly fried clams, and fish cakes are also recommended. The fish cakes had a bit too much filler but were very inexpensive and more importantly they tasted great. (2 large for... More

The food was edible, but that's really all I can say about it. The Lobster roll was underwhelming at best.

Fabulous breakfast. Old-timer waitress, kind, efficient, motherly. Delicious food, served quickly. Kitchen right out in the open, everything obviously homemade with good local food. Would definitely return.

Every so often I go out for breakfast. I usually go to one of two other places. This morning I was coming up to the cafe. There was a parking spot right in front. I took that as a sign that I should try it out for breakfast. Seat yourself anywhere there's a spot for you. The waitress came right... More

We go here often and I'm sorry I haven't reviewed before. This is your basic diner. I've always found the staff engaging and friendly. They have a varied menu with lots of specials going on all the time also. The food is delicious and always plenty of it on a plate. We've been coming here for years and it is always... More
