PRIMO has a great reputation, and it is deserved. Cozy farmhouse ambiance adds to the experience. Menu changes with the season and has many choices. The only complaint was the slowness of the service, which likely resulted from how busy the kitchen was.

We had read so much about this restaurant that we made a reservation and worked our trip around it. Like others have pointed out, it is very dark and kind of confined. But, we were there for the food. The foie gras was not as fresh as we have had elsewhere and it was served with other things that made... More

I will first say that what impressed me the most was the knowledge of the waitress holly, she knew every detail of the menu,,I asked many questions and she had no problems answering, pretty amazing,,,I won't go on into detail about the meal,we tried much and was blown away by all, everything on each plate had a reason to be their,,I grew up... This was definitely worth the wait! We visited on Sunday night of the Columbus Day holiday weekend and took our chances on a seat in the bar dining area. We enjoyed friendly conversation and a glass of wine while waiting and were soon seated at the bar. The bartender was gracious and provided excellent suggestions and service. We enjoyed fresh... Exceptional from start to finish. Made early reservations using Open Table - sat downstairs - Professionally staffed and served - Food to die for - Everything was exceptional. We felt blessed that as "foodies" from NY, we were given the opportunity to dine there. Forget the naysayers. Whatever problems may have occurred in the past did not repeat themselves when... More

We first went here about five years ago and were honestly blown away. This time, not so much. Firstly, the appetizer list had mostly salad choices. Fancy salad mind you, but salad nonetheless. And salad for $13-15. Secondly, after the creative bomb that is the Portland restaurant scene we were underwhelmed by what we felt was a distinct lack of... More

This was our first experience at Primo and a night of surprises it was. We had heard so many good things about this place that for the daughters birthday my wife and I decided to treat her to this place. When we got there we were surprised by the line, even though the place hadn't opened yet. When the doors... More

This last visit to Primo was just as delightful as the first. Although I have only been twice I am far from disappointed. It is pricey but not insane. Dinner for my wife and I which included 2 apps, 2 main dishes, desert and several drinks came in at $180 before tip. Not bad considering dinner and a few drinks... More

It was lovely walking around the grounds before going in to the restaurant. The food was excellent and the service superb. Only thought was the opening of wine was a bit casual, especially as our host ordered two $200 bottles. More attention was called for. Otherwise a fabulous evening. Caution - it is very expensive. And book in advance. We... More

Primo's was the place we chose to celebrate special occasions. It WAS an event in itself, great food and service. Two weeks ago we were dismayed to consider that its reputation had gone to its head as our dinner there left us sadly disappointed. The service was awful, the peach in my appetizer was the kind after one bite, you'd... More
