This restaurant came with high recommendations, and it did not disappoint. From appetizer to after dinner drink, it was superb. All the dishes incorporated local ingredients where possible, and were wonderfully prepared with subtle flavors mixing together, and pleasingly presented. The wine list is on the short side, but excellent, and includes many outstanding half bottles. Desserts and cheese are... more

We experienced the culinary wonder of Melissa and Price many years ago when they were delighting guests at an inn in Old Chatham NY---since then we have driven from the Boston area on three separate occasions to dine at their Rockland ME restaurant. We love great food and the bottom line is that they elevate fine dining to a whole... more

Great dinner and excellent friendly service. We ate here a year ago and the attitude wasn't great...but they have really cleaned up their act. Use lots of locally grown ingredients, much grown in their own greenhouse and garden. more

We are so happy Price and Melissa are open for another season! The only place we wanted to celebrate our engagement was at Primo. Primo is the restaurant to which I compare all other restaurants - very few measure up. The food is always fantastic - last night being no different. We loved that Price came over to help us... more

Had another superb meal at Primo and still can't believe that food this good is available in coastal Maine. Have been eating at Primo whenever I visit Rockland for years and it just never disappoints. The soups are always great. On this trip, the onion soup was essence of onions with that crispy bread/cheese topping - YUM! The bay scallop... more

We've been a number of times over the past couple of years, most recently this past August. While the food is usually above average, it just didn't hit the high marks that we know it has in the past. The service was pretty poor on this visit - due to a very inattentive server. It took so long to get... more

There was a 5 minute gap in serving of entries which I find inexcusable for a restaurant of this caliber. The apology sounded less than sincere. My three guest were satisfied with their entries. I was so mad I don't remember what my steak tasted like, but I think it was tough. more

We read fantastic reviews of Primo and felt so lucky when succeeding in getting a table the very same night. But what a dissappointment! The steak was oversalted, the pasta dish hard to swallow due to a huge amount of "fake" "powder" cheese and the meatballs on the appetizer pizza tasted uncooked. The bread though was some of the best... more

Make your reservations early! We saw a number of couples who were turned away - luckily we made our reservations earlier in the day and still the only opening was at 8:45. We received a call around 8:00 to let us know our table was ready - which was appreciated considering how busy it was there that evening. We were... more

I am in my second week of traveling along the Maine coast and admit to being surprised that, so far, I have found better food more available in Camden and Rockland than in the perhaps more famous Bar Harbor. I found another example of the general professionalism and attention to culinary detail that I have been finding last night when... more
