Detoured to Primo enroute from Quebec City to Boston based on Anthony Borudain TV visit here. Happy roaming chickens, beautiful vegetable gardens and greenhouses surround the parking areas supporting this farm-to-table restaurant. We had a really innovative chacuterie board as an appetizer, followed by absolutely fresh bibb lettuce tomato salads, then ...very tender beef and a nicely seasoned rigatoni arabiata... More

Our friends who took us here said it might be the best in Maine, and I would not argue otherwise. We lined up at 5 p.m. for the upstairs venue-- reservations for downstairs take weeks if not months--and got seated right away. Very creative menu. We shared fried olives stuffed with sausage, and the calamari was very inventive--sautéed with chick... More

Pork Saltimbocca, special appetizer of goat cheese stuffed squash blossoms, lightly deep fried; fantastic service (Duncan!) There were 6 of us, and there was not one dish that was even average. This chef is amazing!

My family of three visited Primo for dinner on a Wednesday evening and had the best dining experience ever! It was my husband's and mine anniversary, however, we had our 7 year old son with us on our vacation and they accommodated us to the fullest so we were able to enjoy a lovely meal within a romantic setting! Everything... More

The entrees were over elaborated, sometimes masking essentials flavors or less than well cooked core food. Because the dishes were so layered with distractions, the food even seemed pretentious at times. Service was very good.

I've owned restaurants all my life. This place is second to none! Can't wait to live on Maine's Mid coast! Truly excellent. Acid profiles and food pairing choices are completely amazing. I would highly recommend Primo to any foodie in the world! Thank you

This is a very nice restaurant with a strong emphasis on farm to table food. They had a massive garden for veggies and chicken. Everything is locally sourced and we had some delicious dishes like corn soup, chopped salad, and two excellent pasta dish ( which you can ask for it in half order) the only unfortunate end to the... Had a bit of a wait, but problem was not the wait, but that every spot to wait was packed, even the porch, which was very pretty. We had booked a table in the parlor room, thinking it looked pretty peaceful, but it, like everywhere else was just buzzing. It was a Wednesday night but of course it was in... More

Although we have access, in New York City, to some of the best in the world, we still make a point each year during our Maine vacation to eat at Primo, which rates with the best of them. The foods the service, and the walk in the garden/farm where almost all your food comes from is a special experience. And... More

A friend and I went to Primo this evening. It's a Monday evening and we wanted something easy and casual, but interesting. My friend had been there before and she suggested we sit at the bar upstairs. First, the ambiance in the bar is wonderful - low lighting, window over the garden - and the bartender was attentive, amusing, and... More
