We visited on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. The food was excellent - omelette and Bahn Mi sandwich, but service was way too slow - we waited for a table for about 20 minutes and then waited another 45 minutes for the food. Also, they ran out of milk which we requested for our toddler. Who runs out of milk?

My husband and I are mid-coast Maine summer residents, and we enjoyed several good meals last year at the Home Kitchen Cafe. This summer, however, both of our visits have been disappointing. Both times, we arrived around 10:45AM on a weekday and had to wait almost 45 minutes for a table. The first time, our server appeared fairly promptly, although... More

I was really excited to try the Home Kitchen Cafe and my husband and I did so today. We had great seats out on the upstairs deck on a beautiful sunny day. My husband had poached eggs and home made corned beef hash which he really enjoyed. I had the chorizo frittata which may not have been the best choice,... More

Serves breakfast till 3 p.m.--perfect for cool, foggy days when you want comfort food. The calories and fat are worth saving up for!

A bit if a wait for lunch, but that's expected in Maine in August. Good food freshly made. Super nice staff, I'd definitely recommend.

When we saw a sign stating voted the Best Breakfast in New England my first reaction was "Sure". Well our first and second visits to this lovely spot while on vacation in Maine did not disappoint. On both days we arrived before 8:00 AM and by the time we left the line was out the door waiting to get in.... More

Locals in the area suggested this place and they were spot on! Breakfast all day! We had to wait for about 15 minutes before being seated. The eggs were cooked spot on as requested ,bread was toasted just right & service was good.

I love a place that serves breakfast all day. Home Kitchen Cafe's menu is extensive and everything looked good. I enjoyed my eggs florentine served a la eggs Benedict style. It was good but not outstanding but it could have used some salt. I sat at the counter and enjoyed talking to other diners. The waitresses however, seemed a bit... More

Great food, good service. No air conditioning, but pretty comfortable. Tight quarters, but always fun. Food is worth the visit.

Most home kitchens are not like this! You have to wait for a table, and then for the food, but it is worth it. The Vietnamese meatball sandwich was terrific, but don't order it if you don't like spicy. The Reuben sandwich, according to an aficionado, is excellent, also the poblano burger and the fish tacos. Breakfast is also very... More
