Stopped by the cafe with our lobsterman friend, Virgil. Cute decor. Crowded with locals and town visitors. Interesting menu as they have two prices....regular and senior. We all chose the fish n chips, sr plate. It arrived and at first sight we thought they had let it brown a bit too much. We're we wrong. The plate yielded a huge... More

This morning, I had the Bacon Bay Scallop Frittata...........it was outstanding! My husband (a pancake pig out king) barely finished the 2 huge cranberry-walnut pancakes. It's a treat to eat here!

After hearing that Rockland was very dog-friendly but finding to our disappointment that most places wouldn't allow us to bring our dog to sit with us in the outdoor area, we were very happy that the Brass Compass allowed us too. We were also delighted with the delicious food and good service here.

We found this place just by chance and decided to try it when we saw that the sign said they'd beaten Bobby Flay on his "Throwdown" Food Network show with their Lobster club sandwich . And what a Lobster club it turned out to be ! It was gargantuan ! Fresh-fresh-fresh and delicous but way too much food for even... More

The Brass Compass is our go to place for a hearty breakfast or lunch. The atmosphere is friendly, comfortable and clean. The menu is varied with something for everyone! Our favorites include the corned beef hash, fish cakes, eggs Benedict with crabcakes, seafood omelet, home made bread, huge muffins and cinnamon buns! We had heard that the restaurant offered an omelet that was super loaded with fresh lobster meat! It did not disappoint. You can get it with or without Hollandaise sauce. At times there is a wait.....it is worth it! Make sure you check out the daily specials there is always something good happening there as well. In the warmer months... More

We ate breakfast here twice in our week long visit. The review that didn't think the Lobster Roll was Throwdown worthy didn't order the Lobster Club. That's the one that won and was super! Homemade bread and bacon made it much better than the regular roll. Huge variety for breakfast. Loved it. there. Service was good even when they were... More

Had breakfast here on back to back mornings. First morning the restaurant was fairly busy, only one cook. Order two eggs over easy, corn beef hash, home fries and rye toast. Everything was overcooked...eggs had hard yolks, corned beef hash fried dry, toast burnt. Second morning the food was prepared better, however I watched the cook eating as she was... More

Had the Compass Club...it was awesome. A little pricey but worth it! Highly recommend! They do close somewhat early so be sure to check it out for breakfast or lunch.
