Fantastic breakfast, very good lunch

We ate breakfast here a couple of years ago, and it was extraordinarily tasty. I had the Big Greek Omelette, and my boyfriend had Penobscot Benny (eggs benedict with crab cakes replacing the Canadian bacon). It was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had! Last week we were too late for breakfast... read more

My family of three visited this establishment one morning on our vacation and it was just plain bad! Shortly after we were seated, I visited the restroom which was very dirty so I was skeptical at the start. While waiting for the restroom to become open, I witnessed a server or a cook coming out of the back room (which... More

Stopped by for a little lunch. It was nice to sit outside and watch the people walk by, but the traffic noise is a little much. The food was Ok, nothing special, and the wait staff was also nothing special.

We have been here 3 years and we have our favorites. Unfortunately something has changed about the cooking...you never serve poached eggs hard..never..they did. The young girls need to learn to be more friendly, got attitudes a bit and i can understand why, customers are not the friendliest, still no reason. So it's still a nice place to go it's... More

We enjoyed breakfast here. I had blueberry almond pancakes, one of several daily specials. My husband had eggs with sausage and toast. Everything was served hot and promptly. Prices were fair, portions were generous and service attentive.

The Brass Compass Café serves one of the best lobster rolls in Maine and that is quite a statement. The owner beat Bobby Flay in a throwdown. It is just stuffed with lobster like it should be, but you can also choose another version that is a BLT takeoff with lobster. My wife went with the standard lobster roll, but... More

I was still on West Coast time and hadn't adjusted to the 4:50am light in the sky so I got up and went looking for a simple breakfast. I got there around 6:30 am. The Brass Compass was the place. Old fashioned breakfast diner atmosphere, the wait staff seemed like they had been there for years and knew everyone (in... More

BEST LOBSTER SANDWICHES EVER!!! Throw the dough for the lobster club or lobster roll, it will be the best money you have ever spent. The lobster club is big enough for two and has more lobster than I have ever seen in a sandwich. You won't be disappointed. The whole belly clams are full and juicy and a must for... More

I have dined at the BC before and it was great. This time we needed catering and they helped us out by coming in a little early to make some awesome omelets. Well prepared and packaged, I will remember their extra effort and patronize them exclusively whenever I want a real Rockland breakfast fit for a fisherman - or a... More
