Excellent small town fare

I found the Brass Compass to be a quaint, seafood themed establishment with excellent breakfast! The service was great!

A good place to get breakfast after an evening of enjoying the many pubs in town. Nothing crazy here... it's hard to screw-up breakfast. Get there early enough and enjoy the sound of some real Maine old timers gossiping of what is going on around town.

I recently ate lunch here at the cafe. I actually split the lobster club sandwich. It was the biggest sandwich ever! I was glad I split it! We also had onion rings that were made fresh and delicious. The food was very tasty and fresh. Loved it!

This was the first time I had ever been. I had the cinnamon bun french toast, which was great. It was two pieces for $6 and super yummy, but not too filling. The waitress asked if it was enough or if I wanted something else. I asked "for seconds" and so got another two. She only charged $1.50 for the... More

Great place for breakfast. All the standards that you expect but then they throw in some things you never expect to see. My Corned Beef Hash Omelet with Onions and Cheese was fantastic. Being a coastal town they also offer omelets with Lobster, Crab and Haddock to choose from. Make sure you are hungry as when you get the perfectly... More

For several years this has been a stop for us on our fall foliage trip. Each time my husband and I share the Throw down lobster club. When our order was brought to the table, the piled-high lobster meat was not on the sandwich. What happened? We showed our server the small amount and asked for more. It was brought... More

My husband and I had lunch here on a recent Friday afternoon while visiting Rockland. My husband enjoyed his Reuben and said it was good. As a vegetarian I would like to see more viable choices on the menu. That said, the grilled cheese I ordered really was tasty. The fries were good, the cole slaw average.

Maine had their “signature” Lobster King club sandwich which was excellent. Place was recommended by a native we met at the State park. This sandwich beat Bobby Flay in a contest and it is great. Get the lobster roll if you don't want the BLT in the club.

The food was out of this world. It reminded me of a old time café. The staff was very friendly and I would highly recommend going here to eat. Prices are reasonable. Just wish it was open longer at night.

Had breakfast at Brass Compass on recent visit to Rockland. Friendly and prompt service. Patrons were mix of tourists and colorful locals. I had eggs and corned beef hash with toast. All were delicious and prepared just as ordered. A companion noted that they actually know how to soft scramble eggs, which is not easy to find. Nothing fancy, just... More
