Lobster Club and Fish Tacos

The restaurant is diner-ish. The Bobby Flay Lobster Club was the reason we came. We had it one year ago and it was delicious, but this time - just okay. The fish tacos were good and lots of fish.

Generous servings of great food are what Brass Compass is all about. You can get the basics and also some more innovative items. The raspberry muffins are my favorited! All the baked goods are made in-house. Lunch is great to; be sure to have pie!

Locals told us about it and it was just around the corner from our hotel. I had a fantastic lobster roll and my mother had lobster eggs benedict, and we sat outside. The place was full, the chef is famous and we enjoyed our experience! It's right on a corner of main street, next to the puffin center and a... More

We had a party of six for breakfast. Everyone was happy with their orders which ranged from eggs and omelets to pancakes. This is a diner type restaurant and with that expectation the food and service were very good. Our coffee was refilled more than onece and we watched the cooks serve up lots of breakfast items. This restaurant is... More

We've been to the Brass Compass many times over the years. Down home cooking, reasonable prices, best breakfast place in town, but the lunch time sandwiches are pretty awesome too. Not elegant, but comfortable. Generous portions, you won't go away hungry.

Very good, but expensive. We ordered the Bobby Flay, throw down sandwich for $22.00, to split, as the picture showed it as huge. The lobster was good, but was NOT the pictured sandwich. We then split the shrimp Cesar salad, that was very good!

The Brass Compass is a great place to get breakfast or lunch. They do not serve dinner, but they serve excellent homemade pancakes and a variety of other great options. Very quaint and homestyle restaurant with reasonable prices. Can get very busy during the summer, we did experience about a 25 minute wait for breakfast around 9:30 a.m. Other than... More

Well located, easy to find, in walking distance to public landing and lighthouse museum. All female staff, slinging bacon and eggs and potatoes, pancakes and sausage and gravy. There were clearly regulars, and although the decor and carpet were old, the place was nice. Indoor and outdoor seating makes for plenty of space. Fruit salad was a mix of canned... More

If you leave a bunch of high school kids in charge of a restaurant, guess what happens. #1 they don't care 2# if there is a problem they don't care #3 if you tell them there is a problem and you ask for a manager, they still don't care. In spite of previous good reviews, 4 seniors walked out. We... More

Ate here for breakfast & had the scallop omelet with ???? hollandaise sauce that tasted like cream of chicken soup - awful! My partner had The Zoe - scrambled eggs & said it was ok.
