I stopped in The Old Goat on my way home Monday from Kennebunkport. Originally my plan was to run in, pick up the pizza I had ordered in and leave, but upon arrival I immediately felt welcome . . . so I grabbed a beer and hung out for a while :) The owner is friendly, despite contradicting reviews I... We've been fairly regular customers at the Old Goat for several years and have always found the sandwiches to be excellent, the beer cold, the entertainment great and the atmosphere very social. It's as close to being like an authentic English pub as we've found in this country - a place where locals congregate and visitors are welcome. I particularly... More

We stopped here for a Guinness and a sandwich. What a great place....very open, clean, friendly, and fun. While we were there a number of locals came by after work and really seemed to be enjoying themselves. Scott, the owner, makes everyone feel at home. He is personable and interesting to talk to. Menu is quite extensive for beer selection,... More

If you have been to Richmond, you know there is not a lot happening. This is a great bar and restaurant...small and intimate...local. Everyone is friendly and the paninis are terrific. They do have entertainment but we have not been able to attend. We visit this area every year and look forward to our visit to the Old Goat. It... More

Sadly this establishment does not care about service. This is what can happen when there is no competition in town. Or, it could just be the owner does not care about his customers. The pizza is good, but not worth the very long wait and attitude. When you wait 45 minutes for a pizza to go the bartender could offer... More

My companion and I were there at 6 pm on a Saturday night. There seemed to be more drinkers than eaters. They serve only beer and wine. My companion suggested an Aventinus beer and to my surprise I actually liked it. It seemed a little sweeter. I also ordered a Nacho appetizer. It was good, just not enough of it.... More

Love, love, LOVE hole-in-the-wall places...they seem to have more character, more interesting groups of people and this place delivered! Love the look & feel of this pub when my husband & I stopped on a sleepy Sunday afternoon. They had a good selection of beers on tap - though I got a kid-sized soda in the bottle (what, no glass... I have been to the Old Goat twice. The first time, the service and food were fantastic. The person waiting on us was prompt and courteous. Tonight, we had a waitress who didn't care that we waited nearly an hour for two pizzas. The waitress was not apologetic or in any hurry to serve us. The pizza (one white pizza,... More

Burnt pizza.............Rude owner. Don't give him anymore money. Other establishments deserve it. And I'm still alive and well much to your chagrin I bet Steve.
