We also dined here for our 30th Anniversary. Congrats John M! We are not vegans or vegetarians but were more satisfied than many a meal at an over priced steak house. I want the last 30 years back. I had no idea vegetarian food could be this good. Fresh and flavorful. Comfort food without the guilt. Organic wines. Reasonably priced.... More

The food at this place makes me feel good. It's well prepared, delicious, healthy food. Prices are good too. I'm a return customer!! The only negative is the parking situation! You might have to walk a bit because it's at a busy intersection and they have no lot of their own that I know of. It's so worth the walk.

We went here for our 30th Anniversary and it was superb. Wait staff was very good, wine & tea very good, food was amazing. Highly recommend this whether you are a vegan or not, I am not & thought the food was 5 out of 5, amazing flavors.

After reading all the reviews, we were prepared to be amazed. Between 4 of us, we had 3 appetizers and 4 entrees and they were decent but not awesome or great. There are so many great places to eat in Portland. As a family of vegetarians, we'll try other places next time we visit

In Portland this has to be the top spot for super tasting veggie food. Our food was, well, like eating in a regular restaurant. Nice presentation, great color, nicely spiced, great taste, completely healthful, and reasonably priced. Got to love it. Our server was attentive, and since the tables are closely arranged, it sounded like all the servers were helpful... More

I took a day-trip to Portland with some friends and we had dinner at The Green Elephant based on a local's recommendation. We are so glad we found this place as the food was delicious! I had the Garlic & Ginger Tofu (without mushrooms) and the blueberry soda. Both were excellent. I wish a location would open in Massachusetts!

As someone who eats meat at every meal, it is quite a compliment to say that I did not even miss it. My meal was perfectly seasoned and whatever meat substitute they used was identical in taste and texture to chicken. Everyone in my party loved the food.

The Green Elephant really hit the spot! I can't wait to go back. It's conveniently located downtown within walking distance from many hotels. The decor is really beautiful. It's a small place, but they did a really nice job decorating. The ambience is nice, with a pretty eclectic mix of guests. The service was very friendly, and my food came... More
