The food here is so rich with flavor that juicy delicious meat would probably only detract from the dishes. Not that you could get meat there anyways- it is strictly vegetarian. I never fathomed being capable of being a vegetarian until I ate the delicious food here. I still probably never will be- but if I could have have all... More

My husband and I are not vegetarians, but with vegetarian food this good all the time, we could consider joining the team! The food has great flavor and you can get it very spicy if you want (I like that). I had not had tempeh before, but I definitely will again! The staff is very nice and the decor is... More

My wife and I are not vegetarian - we just like really good food. We dropped in to this restaurant this week for lunch because we had heard good things about it on the web. We were not disappointed - it lived up to the positive reviews and then some. My wife ordered spring rolls and the Brussels sprout appetizer.... More

This vegitarian restuarant is lauded by some but for the life of me I don't know why. While the food was good and the atmosphere unpretentious nothing really was terribly creative. Perhaps the limitations were because we visited at the later side of Winter but still with all the noise made about it we expected more. The dishes simply were... More

Went with my boyfriend, being vegetarian and from a small town this was an amazing experience to have more then two options to chose from. Had the fried Brussels sprouts and fake chicken skewers to start and both were delicious. Our server was a very nice woman with a laid back vibe and was great. Had the tofu tiki masala... More

We went here as a family after a beautiful day of sightseeing. Every single dish we ordered was so good!! The sauces were great, the ingredients were fresh, and as a gluten free eater for health reasons, I still had many choices. My husband is not normally in to vegetarian dishes or protein options, but he absolutely loved the food.... More

THIS IS NOT A REVIEW. The Green Elephant is NOT a Thai restaurant. The food is "Asian-inspired" but the Green Elephant is vegetarian/vegan...and excellent.

Each time we have been to Portland we have had dinner here at the green elephant. My daughter being vegan and myself gluten free we each have choices here. Pad Thai, steamed Edamame, coconut banana dessert whatever we have ordered we have enjoyed. Atmosphere is relaxed and casual. Definitely reccomend

You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The food was very tasty, the wait staff courteous, and everything on the menu was tempting. EVERYTHING is already vegetarian but can be made vegan if you so choose (and some even gluten-free). We had the Peanut Curry, the Pineapple Brown Rice, and the Pad Thai. All were out of this... More
