First, the ambiance: it was like stepping into a posh dining room in an old estate. Paneled ceilings, soft lighting, music of Satchmo/Ella and occasional standard crooned by Bobby Darin. Pick a table by one of the front windows for a soothing vista of the cobblestoned courtyard, brick/granite facade, and flower gardens. Cocktails: unique and worth the $9.50 (and this... More

We stayed at the Regency Portland hotel where this restaurant is located. We ate here on two occasions. The food was very nice. Certainly a fine dining experience. The setting is very romantic and quaint. Service is excellent. I especially liked the soups and fresh seafood. The menu has a nice selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts. The chef gets... One of the very few places open in greater Portland serving Thanksgiving dinner. Last year's dinner was really very good which is why we returned this year. This year was not good at all. It was more like cafeteria food - a slop of potatoes, a slop of sweet potatoes (or squash - it was just orange), dry bread, bland... More

This restaurant is located in the Portland Regency Hotel. Like the hotel, the décor is traditional & may be a little dark for some. We only had one breakfast there. The server was very good and the food was just fine. There was nothing outstanding, either positive or negative. I will say that, given what we ordered, our meals were... More

This is the restaurant in the Portland Regency Hotel. It could be Portland's best kept secret. Dinner for the two of us who were just too tired to walk back down to the tourist-packed waterfront was a delightful surprise. First, the ambiance of the muted decorations and the quiet with only soothing and soft background music was so much more... More

Wanted to take my visiting family around Portland and eat at a couple of places. We decided on this for apps and drinks before moving onto another restaurant. (Should have gone to the 2nd one for the whole night!) We waited 15 minutes for our drink order, and then placed our food order, which took forever to arrive! We ordered... More

The worst part of this restaurant is its location; inside the tired, dark, uninviting portland regency hotel. The best part is the food; we've eaten all over portland and this was one of the best meals. My vegetarian wife was very happy. And my lobster salad with mango dressing was super. The homemade bread was great too. Waiter was wonderfully... More

I have stayed at the Portland Regency once a year for the past 10 years and just love it. I have dined frequently at the hotel's Twenty Milk Street Restaurant and have always been extremely happy with the quality of food and service. None better. My recent stay I just had to eat at the hotel's Courtyard Café which has... More
