My family and I stopped in for some ice cream yesterday afternoon, and overall, we liked it. I had the fudge peanut butter, my daughter had the moose swirl, my wife had the peppermint stick (icy), and my friend had a hot fudge sundae on frozen yogurt ($25 total). I've had better and I've had worse. It was a little... More

We have been here often since it opened. The ice cream and yogurt are excellent. Quality and service are assured with friendly and capable window service.

Homemade ice cream taste. Ice cream for your dog as well. One of the best things about summer. Worth a visit.

A little pricier but great tasting ice cream. Locally made great sauces and they have waffle cones.......

This is the perfect place to get some delicious homemade ice cream when you need a break from shopping in the Old Port. It is conveniently located right in the Old Port. It has tables and chairs or you can just buy your ice cream and continue shopping!

I've been frequenting Beal's for years. Love the interesting flavors. Teaberry, Ginger, Salted Caramel. Teaberry is my absolute favorite!

Beals is overrated. It can be found all over this state in any name your ice cream stand. Not because it's good, but because "don't leave maine without trying this" or " a maine institution". Seriously go to Mt. desert Isl. ice cream on exchange street. Home made and very creamy.

We loved visiting different ice cream shops all throughout our week in Maine, but I think this was our least favorite of the 5 or so we visited. The ice cream wasn't nearly as unique as other places. It was perfectly fine, but definitely not somewhere I'd take a friend in Portland who wanted great ice cream.

Cash only! Homemade flavors change daily. Even sugar free options are equally tasty! Ice cream is rich and creamy!

I've tried this place twice and have found it wanting. The flavors are just too bland. Four $4 a cone I want really good product. Go down the street to Gelato Fiasco (wich I had know about that first) instead.
