This place is a local's gem, hidden away next to Congress Street. Old time Italian bakery, complete with smart older folks chatting at the tables - they know where to get the best pastries in town. Their cream horns are the best I've ever tasted.

Purchased a dozen assorted crullers at So. Portland location in the morning as a treat for a visiting out-of-town guest. Tried them with coffee that afternoon. The glazed crullers were heavy, with a stale texture. Unglazed were ok, but still not as fresh as expected. Called the number on the box to comment on this..asked if their products were made... Furthermore, these are the best jelly donuts ever. They are moist, good sized, and have a lot of jelly. You can get them powdered, glazed, or with granulated sugar coating them. I also love their bismarks. (If you don't know, that's two longer donuts with a very sweet cream filling and jelly in the middle of the sandwich.) The coffee's... More

I heard they were good and finally stopped by to try them. I got a raised glazed and a strawberry jelly. The texture of the dough is different from what I'm used to. Not too much glaze but there was a sweetness to the dough itself so it didn't need much glaze at all. The strawberry jelly had not glaze... More

We discovered this gem by reading Trip Advisor reviews--this has made our stay in Portland better than ever. We got a large selection of donuts to try & all of them were moist & delicious. The jelly donut had an amazing pull-apart texture & the jelly was great, too. The lemon filled was just as tasty, and the glazed was... More

My wife and I ALWAYS stop at Tony's every time we visit Portland. The donuts are so delicious. Always very fresh, and they have that good old fashioned taste. Everything has such a nice, "home made" taste to it. And they have lots of unique flavors that you won't find at some boring chain. The atmosphere is really homey and... More

Tony's is a Portland landmark. No frills, just great pastries and "sinker" donuts. The staff is great and the prices are very reasonable. Tony's does things the treid & true way--good ingredients, great recipes, and the end results are always a treat.

We stumbled on this place staying at the Clarion Hotel across the street! They have without a doubt the absolute best donuts and pastries I've ever had ... and I've had a LOT! If you happen to be anywhere in the vicinity, you owe it to yourself to visit and pick up a bag full of whatever strikes your fancy... More

Having been Portlands best donut shop for years! Great donuts and service. Sometimes a warm donut could be found. Always fresh and every flavor spectacular.

Went to Tony's Donut shop once. There was a line and the service was just OK. The donuts cost the same as the Holy Donuts. The taste of the donut though is in the same class of Dunkin Donuts. They (Tony's) don't even come close to the taste of the Holy Donut.
