Lots of space - practically no waiting time on a late Saturday morning. Food was impeccable and the ambiance and service were both excellent. Had the Steak and Egg special and everything was amazing. Pride is cooking with local and fresh food.

Really terrific meal at a very reasonable price at a comfortable room but boy was the service uneven. Way too much time between visits from our server, and as a result way too much time waiting for food...and it wasn't that busy. That said our food was quite tasty! The short ribs were tender and flavorful, the shrimp app was... More

Amidst glowing reviews and even a recommendation by a family member, a group celebration for about 12 adults was planned at Local 188 over the on the Saturday before Labor Day 2014. We were had reservations and we were shown to our table right away. From that point on there were mostly disappointments awaiting us. I'll divide those disappoints into... More

The waiter was great with our large party which included children. The local salad was so tasty! I had the risotto and it was steaming hot. The wine and cocktail selections were plentiful.

Portland has so many great restaurants that it's hard to get to them all. We fianlly got to Local 188 last Saturday night and it was well worth it. First, you don't have to hassle finding parking like in Old Port and they are very accomodating. We had a puppy with us and expected to eat outside. However, it was... More

We enjoyed this local restaurant with a group of six and had several of the fish specials as well as the vegetable risotto. All were excellent as was the service.

We had high hopes for this funky local place but were very disappointed. We started with the warm goat cheese salad which was OK but lacked punch. I had the risotto which was fine but I make better at home. The worst offense was the seafood paella. The shrimp was cold, pre-cooked and simply placed on top rather than being... More

Went for Sunday brunch. We were seated outside as we requested. Water was poured for us as we were sitting down, then we didn't see a server for 15 minutes. Miscommunication by staff members evidently. We weren't too upset and the server apologized. I ordered smoked salmon scramble. My girlfriend went with the mushroom and herb scramble. For both of us... More

This seems to be a very trendy restaurant and I don't know why. The selection on the menu is very small, the food portions are small, the food was not good, the service was extremely poor. It took a while to get our salad (which was good) then it was another half hour before we were served the 2 small... More

Very good food in a pleasant space in the Portland Art District. The food has a Spanish influence but is said to be locally sourced. The meal overall was excellent, and the service was outstanding. Wine list was quite interesting, with plenty of good selections by the glass. The heirloom tomato salad was made up of cherry tomatoes, which we... More
