This was our last stop on my best friend's bachelorette weekend, and boy, was I glad this was the place that was chosen. We were not feeling at the top of our game after a very busy and fun weekend exploring Portland's finest bar establishments, but this was the perfect ending to a wonderful trip. They had a table for... More

We decided to try this place after a recommendation of our host, and truly, what a good choice! We were supposed to go in a more touristy place on commercial street but wanted to try a more "local" place. We enjoyed some fresh fish, good wine, very attentive service and the amazing seafood paellas. It also has a parking in... More

I've eaten at Local 188 three times in the past few years and the meal was always excellent. This time, not so much. We did have a tasty appetizer of humus with flatbread and a great bottle of white wine. Our meals, however, were quite dull. I ordered the paella and found it to be without much flavor and somewhat... More

Great Spanish cuisine. Friendly staff. Met nice people from New Brunswick who traveled 5 hours to come to this place. Easy to walk from our west end B&B

My wife, our two young kids, and I ate here twice over a two week period -- once for Sunday brunch, and again for a weekday dinner. We were able to sit outside for brunch, which was very pleasant under the shade of an umbrella. Overall, we thought brunch was decent value for money -- not a bargain, but okay.... More

The food was great, the décor is interesting (antique tin ceiling with visible air ducts, local art displayed for sale on the walls). The service was a bit slow but the server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and history of the restaurant. It's not the place for a cozy quiet meal - there's a strong bar/lounge scene... More

I loved the vibe of this place and returned a second time for seafood paella. Local 188 has good service, a great vibe, and unique and delicious dishes. I came back for paella - they have a few to choose from. When in Portland - by all means - check it out. Free and plentiful parking in rear; great Longfellow... More
