You can taste that this restaurant uses fresh ingredients. However, food overall was ok. Service was slow. Food although it wasn't bad, it wasn't great either.

I've been here several times for dinner and for brunch. The food is excellent; atmosphere casual but kind of sophisticated; service is great. I will definitely return.

We had dinner here one evening while visiting Portland. We had a great time and truly enjoyed our time there. The appetizers were fascinating, with a wide variety available. The wine list was extensive with several good quality options. It was well worth the time.

We stopped in on a Saturday morning late. Good move on our part. The service was good, the food and prices were wonderful. I had Huevos Rancheros that was very unique, but still true to it's Mexican heritage. Taste was off the charts. Next we need to enjoy dinner here, cannot wait. Try it out. I have seen people complain... More

Amazing paella, bohemian decor, artsy clientele, attentive service. Would eat there every night if I could.

The place looks pedestrian from the outside but don't be fooled. Truly original dishes perfectly prepared. Ceviche yellowtail was almost carpaccio like. Small plate appetizers were all amazing. Highly recommend.

During recent weekend visit to Portland, stopped by Local 188 on the recommendation of friends who frequent Portland. Glad we stopped in for Saturday brunch. Loved the general vibe of the place. Incredibly comfortable feeling. Fairly straight-forward brunch menu. I opted for the Crab Cakes Eggs Benedict. Delicious. I will admit that I was a little bummed though that the... More

In one of the food hearts of Portland, I came on good reviews from family, and Scott at the West End Inn. The open kitchen greets you immediately and the eccentric art and sculpture that edges the seating is interesting! The service was prompt and kind. The specials sounded delicious, and we split some lamb skewers, and I had the... More

The menu is interesting and the food good - the anchovies were the best I've had outside of Italy - and the set-up encourages you to take your time eating and relaxing and enjoying the scene. The place has a warm welcoming feeling - not too fancy, not at all dingy - just a pleasant place to be.

My husband and I have been searching for good restaurants that's are not considered "chains". We decided to try out Local 188 for our anniversary! They have a regular menu and then a tapas menu. They also have a ginormous drink menu! We ordered a few of the tapas dishes and they were delishes! Then we ordered a cheese display... More
