I have now been to Caiola's three times and I decided it was finally time to write a review. This place has exceeded expectations all three times! My last visit, I took my out of state parents and they loved it. I was trying to find a good white fish plate for my dad - he loves hake, halibut, sea... More

The menu at this small neighborhood restaurant changes every night. The food was excellent, as was the friendly service. Each dish was prepared to perfection and beautifully presented. We even came back a second evening. Cindy, the manager of the Percy Inn down the street, recommended the restaurant to us; we were thrilled with her suggestion.

Had a great weeknight meal here with two good friends, locals, who live nearby in the west end. Polenta fries were fantastic for an appetizer, pork chop was one of the tastiest ever, reasonably priced wine, low-key atmosphere.

I had recently read a review of this restaurant, and although we live nearby, we had never eaten there. I saw they served paella, so we went to try it! We were introduced to the dish a few years ago when our son in law prepared it, and it was delicious! We also had it in Barcelona last year and... More

Amazing, amazing food at a reasonable prices ! Their Romain salad with fried oysters is a "Must Have." All other salads and appetizers Fairly quiet, romantic, superb service, and most times brilliant combinations, especially with the seafood ! Reservations probably a good idea as this is a local go-to in Portland's West End

Not your average Italian Restaurant- excellent, authentic Italian food. Nice ambiance and friendly staff. Timing of the service was very good- not rushed but not so slow you felt ignored

We liked the Wine Cellar enough on New Years Eve 2013 to book it again that night for the following New Year's. In July we received a call from Caiola's asking us if we still wanted the Wine Cellar because another group was interested in reserving it. We confirmed we still wanted it. We called on December 29th to confirm... More

In a search for an Italian restaurant in our travels to Portland, ME, I came across Caiola's as the #2 ranked Italian restaurant. After dining here, it should be the clear cut #1 ranked restaurant. First, it's the type of place that one might drive by and think "not very appealing" from the outside as it's very ordinary looking and... More
