Tiny place, like eating shoulder to shoulder in a Manhattan deli... indifferent staff, average food soaked in gravy duckfat. Interesting but a one trick pony gimmick. eight to ten folks fill the dining room area, be prepared to wait.Crazy expensive considering portion size presented.. Mumford and Son soundtrack.. check.., fedora wearing cook, check...peasant skirt and Birkenstock wearing waitress? ..check... Hipster... More

People are flocking to Duckfat... We enjoyed the fries and milk shakes (shakes were on the thin side but excellent flavor...would have liked them to have been thicker) and the word wall was fun for creating poetry while we waited... expensive for what it is but the atmosphere and food were both excellent.

This place is yummy. Go here for the fries and shakes - it's why the owner opened this restaurant and as you may have guessed, it's namesake is based on the oil the fries are cooked in. Everything is excellent. Nice place for lunch or dinner - cozy casual. As with almost all Portland restaurants it's not very big. Between... More

I had the Duck con Feit sandwich here on a stop in with my girlfriend and it may have changed my sandwich experience forever. Not only was the savoriness of the duck so unbeleivable, the mix of cheese, pressed bread and green tomatoes made it something I wont soon forget. The fries come with dipping sauces of your choice to... More

A little out of the center of town but worth the stop. We both had the chicken salad which was a pressed pieces of chicken (looked like tofu) but it wasn't and had a bit of a smoky flavor. Along with lemon vinegar coleslaw and diced green tomatos and very hot halapenos. We also tried the frites with truffle ketchup.... More

Try the poutine fries and the turkey panini or the goat cheese, bacon and tomato panini! The milkshakes were also just wonderful! Amazing!

French fries with a number of sauce choice, a number of milk shake options, sandwiches, craft beer. Delicious. Fries are perfectly fried and seasoned - not too salty. We tried the garlic mayo and curry mayo. Shakes were creamy and a great combo with the fries. We also had a sandwich board with three types of meats and fresh warm... More

We showed up at 2pm on Saturday (bad timing on our part) and the table wait was 1.5+ hrs. The place is tiny, so no surprise that the wait was so long. We were going to leave, but the hostess told us takeout was only 25 min wait. We ordered fries/frites and two paninis, then went to sit on the... More

We tried this place out our last night in Maine. The duckfat fries are great and have a nice added flavor. We had two paninis which were alright but I would go for the sandwich board. The dessert was the best, donut holes with carmel sauce and a blueberry milkshake.
