Have heard great things about Duckfat and finally had the opportunity to stop by this afternoon for lunch. The title says it. This is fine dining, on fairly simple foods . . . extremely well done. Also, expect some great wines and beers. I'm told their Belgian fries, and appropriate dipping sauces, are supurb -- but these are not on my diet list. The place feels warm, and also appropriately elegant.

I stopped in for a late lunch on my way from Boston to Bangor. As a solo diner I had no problem grabbing a seat at the counter. Tried the lentil soup and a salad of red quinoa, cauliflower and pickled onions. I'll get around to trying the fries eventually. The menu is small but there are some interesting choices.... More

Stopped in for a beer and a bite around 4pm while bar and brewery hopping around Portland. A very friendly server sat us promply, but expect a wait at prime time. We ordered local beers, this huge cone of Belgian fries and Brussels sprouts with pork belly. All was spectacular! Great atmosphere, friendly yet professional. Wish there was one near... More

This place has such a great vibe. Delicious menu selections, great service and fantastic draught beers. A bit out our the old port but worth the stroll.

I'm not quite sure why folks drool over this place. Sure, the fries are tasty but not mind-blowing. In fact, I think Nosh has better fries. The menu is a bit overpriced and incredibly small (meat, cheese, fries and shakes). The vibe is hipster extraordinaire. With a million places in Portland to try, you'll be fine to miss this one.

The food was wonderful, it's a small and comfortable place to get lunch! ( although if you go later in the day, you may have to wait a while - so try to get in early!) The homemade pickles are good - they remind me of my grandma's!

This was my second visit to Duckfat, and this time was just as wonderful as my first. The first time I went, we had a large group and sampled many more menu items, so I will address those here also. First visit: 12/30/14 (vacation week) We had 6 in our party, so we knew that we needed to arrive just... More

Went over for lunch after visit to Art Museum. Had a .40 minute wait Walked over to the Two Fat Cats Bakery. Well worth the wait. Belgian fries with truffle ketchup, amazing. Panini's were very good, milkshake tasted like a creamsicle, very very good. The adoration is reserved for the doughnut holes, I bow to them. They were one of... More

Had a great lunch at Duckfat. We ordered the large Poutine fries, so good, so large, a little on the salty side but I had a Banded Horn stout to wash down. Will make a point to go again.
