HUGE surprise!

I love Portland and don't get nearly enough time here. I ran across this restaurant while driving "over the hill" on my way to a place that now counts as second tier to Blue Spoon. I had consumed probably one too many scotches before arrival. Still, the greeting was, amongst the warmest and most... read more

A friend was in town and treated me here to a belated birthday dinner. It was his first time here, though I had been twice before (once for dinner, once for Sunday brunch).... a couple of years ago. The restaurant is small and intimate with essentially one dining room, a very small bar area and a kitchen. There is nice... More

Five of us ate here recently and we all thought the food tasty, creative, and well-prepared. Service was funky, friendly and pleasantly funny. The wines and drinks were just right -- and the prices made for a great value. Parking is on the street.

The food at this neighborhood gem is excellent. The wait staff are so helpful and provided us with recommendations for the rest of our weekend in Portland - thankfully they steered us away from the tourist traps.

Whenever we go to Portland, We chose to eat in this little restaurant. We have never been disappointed. Their menu is diverse and always has a fish dish. In addition, they are very accommodating when it comes to such things as "vegetarian", "gluten free" etc..

In Portland recently on business and met up with friends at the Blue Spoon. Had a very pleasant experience. Service was quick and very pleasant. Food was very good. It was nice that there was the ability to pick portion size on some dishes. Would certainly go again.

First visit, found the chicken over cooked and the sourdough bread extremely dry. Disappointing visit.

We enjoyed dinner last night at Blue Spoon - I found out about this restaurant after reading numerous reviews. I'm glad we chose this place and I'm glad we made a reservation. The restaurant is small and cozy. Our server was lovely - attentive but not overbearing. We ordered two of the tapas - a bleu cheese spinach dish and... More

The atmosphere was cozy, friendly, and casually-sophisticated. The server was terrific, the food was delicious including the tapas/starters, kale salad, and entrees --- all were very good. I gave this review 4 stars only because they have a limited bar selection, perhaps due to size. We'll be back.

I RARELY give 5 stars, but... We went tonight, our little family of 4 and our experience was so great, I got right on to review them right away. First, the restaurant is tiny, but having lived in the NYC metro area 14+ years, I can say it reminds me of those little out of the way places you tumble... More
