We were all happy at Blue Spoon

Three of us with different tastes went to Blue Spoon for lunch. It is small, but it was not crowded and the noise level was very low, allowing us to have a conversation. Each of us had different dishes and everyone was pleased with her choice. I had the wonderful eggplant sandwich, which I've... read more

I was really eager to try the Blue Spoon. I'd heard good things about it and I love the space. It's cozy and lovely. But the food was very disappointing. The menu was very small. I ordered a steak, mostly by default. (It's always a shame to wind up eating steak because nothing else appeals.) The steak was overcooked and... More

I have enjoyed many meals and happy hours here over several years. It may be my favorite restaurant in Portland, which has some stiff competition. Favorite elements are the atmosphere (small with pleasant lighting), the service (neighborhood friendly), varied price points (they offer half portions of risotto, entree salads, etc as well as pricier entrees), Wine Time (speaks for itself),... Happy we arrived on the early side, as it filled quickly. And for good reason. It was very good! Beet salad with horseradish sauce and pistachios: excellent. Steak salad: excellent, liked the use of brisket in lieu of steak. All in all, a good spot for lunch!

I read that Munjoy Hill was no longer the bad part of Portland and was quickly becoming the "it" spot, so decided to forgo lunch in the establishment Old Port and see what they had. Right down the street from the Observatory, the Blue Spoon is a small but cozy place offering nice American/local fare. Our waitress was very nice/friendly... More

Blue Spoon has been a mainstay on Munjoy Hill for some time now and it's easy to see why they continue to fill their small dining room. We had a lovely dinner with friends with attentive service and fantastic food and wine. This is the perfect kind of neighborhood bistro you seek out when you're in the mood for something... More

I LOVE this place. It is a small neighborhood restaurant, so be advised that reservations are necessary, even for lunch. The food is fresh and the menu changes with the seasons. My husband and I always get the tapas and sides. We find them so imaginative and delicious that they become our meal. House wine, during Wine-Time, is very good,... More

I come to this restaurant just about every time I am in Portland. The menu is simple and has a few great options of local seafood like mussels or clams. Burgers while a bit expensive are really good. I recommend getting the potatoes as your side. One bit of advice, be careful where you park. I got a $30 parking... More

Small and cozy dinning room. Definitely make a reservation. Very friendly staff. Nice selection of local beer as well as bar offerings. Food was delicious. Very fresh and used the best local seasonal ingredients. Reasonably priced. Easy walking distance in nice Portland neighborhood.

This is a small restaurant with a limited number of tables. Be sure to make a reservation, as it is very popular. Food is delicious and creative. Location on Munjoy Hill is fun, ambiance is cozy, service is good, prices predictably high-end of reasonable. Worth it.
