The atmosphere was cozy, friendly, and casually-sophisticated. The server was terrific, the food was delicious including the tapas/starters, kale salad, and entrees --- all were very good. I gave this review 4 stars only because they have a limited bar selection, perhaps due to size. We'll be back.

I RARELY give 5 stars, but... We went tonight, our little family of 4 and our experience was so great, I got right on to review them right away. First, the restaurant is tiny, but having lived in the NYC metro area 14+ years, I can say it reminds me of those little out of the way places you tumble... More

It is a great idea using fresh what you get from the farmers. They tried too hard, where everything had to be over the top. There should of been something simple even if it is a a fresh salad. The only salad was over the top with huge chunks of blue cheese. The squash spicy sausage soup no one in... More

Been going here for years and have never been unhappy with the food or service. Dishes are beautiful and simply prepared and very unique in combination. Their grilled cheese -with taleggio apricot preserves and arugula is heavenly as are the mussels, the burger and the grilled skirt steak salad. I love the emphasis on local food and produce and always... More

I ate at this great little gem tonight for about the fifth time. It has never failed to delight. In this city of great little restaurants this one stands out. There are several marks of a really good restaurant for me. The first of course is the food. Without that, nothing else matters. Blue Spoon never disappoints. The wild mushroom... More

Food here can't be beat 99% of the time. There appears to have been a major change in wait staff from the bar to the table servers however, and it was not for the better. Earlier this month we experienced a two hour dinner, and the place was not even full. Long waits at every point, not even the bread... More

It was late on Saturday morning when I was looking for a place to have brunch. Portland can be difficult at this time of day. Many places still have lines out the door and very few are welcoming to a single diner. Then I remembered the small bar at Blue Spoon and took the chance that I would be able... More

The Blue Spoon is a quite small, cozy place that has the combined charme of an English Pub and a French Bistro with an open kitchen and two very welcoming waiters, who were very attentive despite the place being crowded. We had the beet salad and the fish chowder, which both were absolutely delicious. For dessert we opted for a... More

My partner and I have just notched up 7 days on a New England tour (from the UK), including Boston, the Cape, Bretton Woods and Maine (today!). Tonights supper at The Blue Spoon was certainly my favourite to date. The mussel and pollock chowder and both chocolate puddings were wonderful! Service fantastic; professional and personable. Friendly dining crowd too. Throughly... More
