Tiny restaurant, exceptional food

On Congress Street in the suddenly trendy Munjoy Hill area, this restaurant is a gem. I believe it's chef owned and the commitment to excellence shows in every dish. The menu is small but offers enough variety to please just about everyone. We shared a smoked trout bruschetta appetizer followed by... read more

Small farm to table neighborhood cafe. Always a soup of the day, tasty salads, and sandwiches on homemade breads (maybe from the Rosrmont Bakery across the street). Fish sandwich was corn-meal hake with green goddess and radishes--I didn't think hake was a go to white fish--but it was fresh and dam good. This is a two person operation so do... More

This small place in the Munjoy Hill section of the city is worth a visit. The menu is more creative than one might expect from the exterior and we enjoyed the fried fish sandwich and the chicken panzanella salad--more greens than tomatoes in it, but still appropriate summer fare.

Blue Spoon is a small neighborhood restaurant in a lovely section of Portland that has spectacular views of the ocean. Four of us had lunch there recently. It's a informal sort of place with the kitchen in full view as you enter and find a spot in the small cluster of dining tables. Every dish we had was very good.... More

We were here for brunch on a weekend so menu was limited. Mostly breakfast foods for brunch. Only lunch items choices are are a hamburger and a salad. We were here at 12:30 in the afternoon so would have liked more lunch choices. Pleasant to sit outside. Casual and away from the congestion of Old Port. A nice change for... More

I love Portland and don't get nearly enough time here. I ran across this restaurant while driving "over the hill" on my way to a place that now counts as second tier to Blue Spoon. I had consumed probably one too many scotches before arrival. Still, the greeting was, amongst the warmest and most genuine that I've experienced in a... More

A friend was in town and treated me here to a belated birthday dinner. It was his first time here, though I had been twice before (once for dinner, once for Sunday brunch).... a couple of years ago. The restaurant is small and intimate with essentially one dining room, a very small bar area and a kitchen. There is nice... More

Five of us ate here recently and we all thought the food tasty, creative, and well-prepared. Service was funky, friendly and pleasantly funny. The wines and drinks were just right -- and the prices made for a great value. Parking is on the street.

The food at this neighborhood gem is excellent. The wait staff are so helpful and provided us with recommendations for the rest of our weekend in Portland - thankfully they steered us away from the tourist traps.

Whenever we go to Portland, We chose to eat in this little restaurant. We have never been disappointed. Their menu is diverse and always has a fish dish. In addition, they are very accommodating when it comes to such things as "vegetarian", "gluten free" etc..
