Really good, but not stellar

It is really hard to choose a restaurant in Portland, given all of the fantastic choices. We chose 555 because it was relatively close to our hotel, and they actually had openings during our stay. Service was great. Food was pretty good. Thought the menu was a little limited. Cheese plates and the salted focaccia were a delicious way to start.

On this Monday night I was entertaining clients and colleagues last night. Food was delicious, creative and well presented. The Staff was on their game. Polite, professional and knowledgeable. Our server was particularly helpful with wine parings.

We're lucky -- enjoy food and have found some excellent restaurants. 555 is now on our list. After a FR in East Boothbay, headed back to southern seacoast Maine. 555 has been on our list, and we booked ahead. Superb! Great suggestions from our waiter (Management -- don't know if you read these things, but his name on the CCR... More

We loved this place! We made a reservation, which was needed as it was a busy Monday evening . Went on a recommendation and this truly was well worth the trip! The lobster mac and cheese makes me want to go back again today! My husband raved about the halibut. And the wait staff were terrific! It was quiet and... More

Totally disappointed sorry, but a fine restaurant were you can not even hear what the waitress is saying because of the noise is unacceptable! Too Loud impossible to enjoy your dinner in that conditions. And then again, one of your famous dish is a lobster chopped on top of mac and cheese... really?? What kind of way is to serve... More

We arranged to meet here for a family dinner in July 2015. The excellent hostess called to confirm our reservation and luckily I mentioned an elderly family member. She immediately said she would put us downstairs - which was great because the stairs would not have been an option (quite steep.) The interior is lovely - gorgeous bar - we... More

We have had this on our Portland To Do List for years. So glad we finally made it. I would go back just for the mimosa, but the cinnamon bun was pretty terrific. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere--- no loud music and the attentive service. We'll be back for dinner!
