We got two breakfast orders to go as we were staying in a nearby hotel with our dogs, a breakfast burrito and sandwich both with hash browns. They kindly boxed everything up along with utensils and condiments. The food was really good diner type food with big portions. Their hash browns were really exemplary - one of my favorite things... When I get an urge for pancakes, I visit Marcy's. One pancake fills the plate and fills me up, and the coffee is decent. There is often a line waiting for a seat. Great value for the cost -- cash only.

I have eaten in this cash only establishment about half a dozen times. The portions are large, the waitresses are friendly, and they have a lot of clever items on the menu such as today's special which was jelly donut french toast -- which I didn't order, but it was certainly original. Positives are the old timey atmosphere, great attentive... More

What makes a great breakfast exceptional? A bloody mary. That's my only complaint about this place though it's a diner so we didn't expect it to serve alcohol. I had the best breakfast burrito I have ever had and the hash browns were amazing though they could use a pinch of salt and pepper. Be prepared to wait for awhile... More

Whenever we are in Portland, we have to have breakfast at Marcy's at least once. It is a small place so you may end up waiting if you go at a busy time or on the weekend. The wait is usually not that long. Everything is cooked to perfection. I always get the corned beef hash, hash browns and eggs.... More

We sat at the counter overlooking the cooking area and we're not so sure of the cooking conditions. We watched the cook crack eggs, poke the yokes with her finger, then handle bread and other items. Everything was cooked on the same grill and the spatula used to clean the dripping pan was also used to flip the food. The... More

Had one lunch and one breakkfast here. My homemade cup of soup was excellant, salad was fresh and tasty, and my eggs, hash browns, and one blueberry pancake are some of the best I have gotten in a restaurant. The hash browns were a good mix of moist and crispy- hands down the best I have eaten anywhere. This restaurant has... More

Marcy's was our first food stop in Portland on Day 1 of our trip there this summer. The wait was loooonggg - like 45 minutes to an hour at prime breakfast time on a Saturday. But once we were seated, at the counter, it was a great introduction to Portland. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We wound up... More

We went to Portland to really just eat over a long weekend. Stopped at this place after reading reviews and it did not disappoint. The western omelette was one of the best I've had. The eggs were cooked to perfection. The coffee was perfect as well. The place is small but we never felt like we were rushed even though... More

Don't expect too much when you enter this diner. There are only about 5 tables and the rest of the seating is at the counter. We arrived at about 930am on a Friday and the only seats were at the counter. There was already a line waiting for the tables. We opted for the counter and it was a pleasure.... More
