Great food, friendly service. Was seated immediately and served fairly quickly. Lot a very big place, only a few booths and seating for maybe 8-10 at the counter. If I had a complaint it would be the restaurant was very warm on the particular day we went. Granted it was 85 degrees outside (probably uncommon for Portland in August), but... More

You know you are at the right place when the pancake special of the day includes chunks of toll house cookies! Breakfast burritos with green chilies, omelets with homemade black bean chili, and the best muffins in the Northeast. Oh, did I forget the portion sizes and the crispy, hippy hashbrowns? Worth a trip to downtown Portland, Maine!

Awesome Greasy Spoon type place, in a good way. The staff was very good and friendly. The wait a table was horrific.

This local hotspot was an easy walk from our hotel so we tried it based on the reviews. We were lucky enough to get a couple counter seats about 8:30 on Monday morning. Just great, rock solid, no nonsense American diner breakfast food from wall to wall! Huge portions, so do not over order. By the time we left, the... More

Read about Marcys in TA so decided to give it a go. We did have quite a wait but did not mind the place was bursting but no-one was hurried out of their seat, always a good sign. Now neither of us are into huge portions (a lot of quantity over quality) but we both found all the food here... More

It's pretty rare that we would go back to the same place the very next day but this place is yummy. We started with the grilled homemade muffin which was fantastic. Great pancakes and good omelets. Be prepared to wait. Super friendly staff!

Going to the same place twice in 2 days is a big compliment. Great diner setting (yes, it's a diner - don't go there expecting white cloth and sterling settings). Hard to believe they did French toast from a cherry cheese Danish - it was great breakfast food. Huge pancakes (the "silver dollar" pancakes were closer to a plate size,... More

I was in Portland for a quick stop on my way up the coast and stopped at Marcy's. There was a line and a wait. Naturally, to me that meant it was good, so waited with pleasure and anticipation. I was not disappointed. Everyone was warm and welcoming, but firm with their house rules. No substitutions on the specials. The... More

The food was good, the prices where reasonable, and the place is tiny. The food is typical dinner fair (we had breakfast) not anywere near as good, as the other reviews led me to believe. I visited with my parents, and my dad is a coffee hound. Marcy's is located only a couple of blocks from our hotel, so we... More

We found this on Trip Advisor. It's sort of a hole in the wall place - downtown with a few booths and a counter. Service was very good. Servers were friendly and efficient. The food was good and plentiful. Not a good idea for gluten intolerant people as lots of chances for cross contamination. Eggs were fresh but my Greek... More
