This is the "order from a window, pick it up yourself, and use your fingers" kind of place. It's the kind of place you do need to go to at least once. But for me, that was enough.

Decent joint with live music. Kind of an organized chaos place.. You order inside, go outside, get your drinks and then you get seated. The buzzer tells you your food is ready; you pick up at outside window and have at it. We had 1 1/2 lbs lobsters and they were good but not spectacular.. Perhaps my 4th lobster in... More

Great spot right on the waterfront in Portland. Crazy busy, good food but some patience is a must to enjoy this place.

Stopped here for dinner upon arrival to Portland. Service was quick and pleasant. I got the lobster roll served hot with butter. The meat was great but it was cold; I'm used to hot lobster meat. The sandwich was tasty and was a good size. I also ordered the clam cake which was good, it had lots of stuffing but... More

On our first day in Portland my son and I went to the Portland Lobster Company. It was set up a little unusual that you order at a counter then go outside on a large dock with a bar and table set up and find a seat. It was crowded but we found two seats and got some wine. There... More

Though the rude girl at the pickup counter said there was butter on the lobster roll, there was none. Nothing but the bread and a thin slice of lettuce, it was like eating leather. As others have said, I finished eating my 'meal' long before I ever got the text from them saying my table was ready. I was already... More

I will tell you this place is horrible. I'm actually still sitting here and I need to advise you to sit elsewhere. The one good thing about our meal was that we decided to just order appetizers and wait to order our dinner. Clam chowder tasted like cream of undercooked onion and celery soup. Mussels were loaded with garlic and... More

This was our first trip ever to Maine and on the recommendation of our hotel manager, we planned a visit to the Portland Lobster company. Ordering was quick, prices good, and the service time was good. Everyone enjoyed the lobster roll and I had a crab cake burger. Good times with family are what memories should be made of.

Terrible service! You order your food fairly quickly but then have to wait FOREVER to get a table and then to get your food! They ran out of certain sides and just said "oh well, have something else or wait longer! They only give one lobster cracker per party! Poor attitude from staff! Food came cold and tasteless! Clam chowder... More

Lobster roll was pretty good. The meat was cold with hot butter dripped over it. Unsure why they did it that way. It was good though I would of liked more for the price. The chowder on the other hand was great! The coleslaw was not my thing at all. Nice day on the dock and the people were very... More
