Good food

Great food. We had lobster dinners and lobster rolls. However, the atmosphere was a little loud, seating was crowded, and it was hard to have conversations.

This place is fun. It's very casual and very popular. They have a superior wine list for such a casual place. We had lobster rolls for lunch. They were good but you generally have the same lobster in a lobster roll no matter where you get it so when people say a place has the best lobster roll they usually... More

Recently visited Portland, Maine and ate at the Portland Lobster Co. a couple of days. I tried the Lobster roll and the Scallop roll. Both were really good. This location also has full Lobster and other fried seafood selections. Kids selections are available as well. It is always busy so be prepared to either wait for a seat or sit... More

We went here after going lobster boating in the bay area (Lucky Catch Cruises-- highly recommend, we had a blast). I did a little bit of research beforehand to see where I could get the best lobster roll in the area and this place was ranked #1 on a ton of websites. Overall the food was delicious. Great lobster rolls... More

I would say this restaraunt is more of a tourist trap than anything. I travel to Portland frequently for work and have tried many restaraunts in town that are all very very good. I had a friend coming up from Arizona that really wanted a Maine lobster so I thought this place would be nice since it is on the... More

First stop upon arriving here on Portland. Hit it at a perfect time about 330 In the afternoon. Not crowded got the last picnic table at the end on the water. Order food and pick up at window when your lobster vibrates. Lobster roll was good in that they don't use fillers at all. It's lobster and butter. But for... More

There is not many restaurants that will take you out on a lobster boat, let you haul in the traps and pick the lobster that was just caught and eat it, but Portland Lobster Company does! This place is awesome! If you're in Portland and looking for a lobster roll you be wrong not to choice this place. You may... More

The lobster roll is on a smsll hot dog bun. I am not saying it didn't taste good, I'm just saying that for $16.99 that is pretty expensive. You will enjoy sitting out on the deck though smelling the sea air. If you want to be a foodie and taste every lobster roll that you can, go ahead and put... More

We went here because it was on a bunch of lists. It was really disappointing and I kind of wish we skipped it in a town full of Lobster rolls.... Nice location and great staff but food was just OK. Decent fried Maine shrimp (but heavy), and not great Lobster rolls or fries. If you have a long list of... More

Fun little place to hang out, wasn't too busy when we were there (no cruise ship in port). Lobster roll had a good amount of meat but still kind of pricey for what you get in my opinion ($19). The crab cake on the other hand was amazing!! Get it.
