When it takes 30 minutes and a request to get a wait person, there is something wrong. 30 min more after told food was being plated. Two hours and thirty minutes for a usual 1 hour fifteen minute meal. Slow slow.

Everything about this place is exceptional quality. The food, the atmosphere, the location and the quality and valuw of the mixed drinks is unmatched at any location we have ever been. Winnie is fun and knows her customers by name. New or old. The menu is all new daily and only fresh ingredients. We highly recommend Katahdin...

What a special place! Becky the Chef owner makes everything from scratch! Tonight I had homemade pasta with luscious sauce of mushrooms, tomatoes and herbs with cream and wood grilled chicken. (Can I lick the plate?). My son had pork tenderloin with bacon and sweet potatoes, my wife had salad with marinated grilled steak.... The drinks and wine - yum...... More

Agree with previous review-Winnie was our bartender and waitress, she is witty and fun-just delightful! Our food was to die for, the drinks fabulous and we truly enjoyed everything about our meal. We had the goat cheese fondue for an appetizer, truly divine! My husband had the pork tenderloin, he was able to cut it with a butter knife. I... More

I am going to just put it right out on the table with this one. Winnie is the best bartender in portland. Here honey pear martinis are to die for. The place is a little pricey but it is worth every penny. Winnie the owere and bartender is a hoot! The place has a great atmosphere and there are always... More

This wonderful and delicious spot is tucked away on a side street next to the Portland stage company. It pays to go off the beaten track and discover this little gem where Winnie serves up a fine drink from the elegant bar...Chef Becky is excellent and inventive....always a good choice!

Recent visit and Becky (the Chef and co-owner) was making what she decided based on local ingredients and her whim and creativity. As sat at the bar and order my wonderful cocktail created by Winnie (bartender, mixologist, and co-owner) for me based on my taste in alcohol and mood for the evening, I saw that they had fried oysters dipped... We were seated upstairs but the hostess. She did not check to see if we had made a reservation, which we did. On the second floor, totally unoccupied when we were seated, we waited a good fifteen minutes until our waitperson arrived without apologies. His service was friendly but cursory. The food was average. They definitely do not live up... More

We loved our meal at Katahdin, and I would recommend it, however, just be aware the hostess can be a little cold. We arrived earlier than our reservation on a Saturday night hoping to be seated early. We were told the restaurant was too busy ( even though there were alot of open tables), so we said no problem can... More
