Great Food but NOT Well Organized

Every bite was delicious and the servers were very pleasant, but the service was slow and didn't seem well organized. I would highly recommend this restaurant and I will return when I am in Portland again. Just plan ahead if you have show tickets or need to keep to a schedule because dinner could... read more

My husband and I made reservations for dinner after a late afternoon viewing of a play at the Portland Stage Company. We chose the restaurant for its convenience to the theater. Also, we had viewed the restaurant's web site. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and was playing nice jazz music when we arrived. The music did get too loud... More

One of Portlands classic restaurants in my opinion. I have come several times just for drinks but recently had the chance to dine. They have a limited menu that changes very often. I went for the salmon dish. It came with polenta that I could have second guessed to be mashed potatoes, seriously delicious! The salmon was blackened and was... More

Out of the Old Port area, this is not a restaurant that most casual visitors would happen upon. But it is SO worth going to, and if it's warmer than it was when we visited (I think it was 10 degrees), it is easily reached on foot. We were lucky that our hotel had shuttle service! The bar is gorgeous... More

calls and messages have gone unanswered. Sending personal message versus public comment in order to give you opportunity to explain. On January 13 I called and left a message for a reservation and received a call back at 3:45 (I can show you the received call on my cell) to set up a reservation for 5:30 on 2/6. Very embarrassed... From the welcome to the departure from this restaurant you may come as strangers but you always leave as family. When you come back and they say they have missed you, they mean it. Being a local I have had many meals and never left disappointed. Win and Bec are fantastic hosts. Matty is a great server. I planned a... More

When it takes 30 minutes and a request to get a wait person, there is something wrong. 30 min more after told food was being plated. Two hours and thirty minutes for a usual 1 hour fifteen minute meal. Slow slow.

Everything about this place is exceptional quality. The food, the atmosphere, the location and the quality and valuw of the mixed drinks is unmatched at any location we have ever been. Winnie is fun and knows her customers by name. New or old. The menu is all new daily and only fresh ingredients. We highly recommend Katahdin...

What a special place! Becky the Chef owner makes everything from scratch! Tonight I had homemade pasta with luscious sauce of mushrooms, tomatoes and herbs with cream and wood grilled chicken. (Can I lick the plate?). My son had pork tenderloin with bacon and sweet potatoes, my wife had salad with marinated grilled steak.... The drinks and wine - yum...... More

Agree with previous review-Winnie was our bartender and waitress, she is witty and fun-just delightful! Our food was to die for, the drinks fabulous and we truly enjoyed everything about our meal. We had the goat cheese fondue for an appetizer, truly divine! My husband had the pork tenderloin, he was able to cut it with a butter knife. I... More
