We were in Portland for one night, and Street and Co was recommended to us by everyone from our B&B hostess to the guy in the bar across the road, to two strangers in the street who came up to us quite independently and told us not to miss it. It was unsurprisingly busy, and without a reservation we were... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel. First, we were on holiday in Portland and wanted lobster. The only lobster on the menu however, came served over pasta, drenched in garlic, drowing in broth and undercooked. I had the bluefish special. It was basically lacking any taste. This appears to be a nice place and fairly popular. We... More

After enjoying a fantastic dinner at Fore St. last night, we were excited to hopefully be repeating our experience. Unfortunately, Street was extremely disappointing. The starters and wine were good enough, but the kitchen lost our main order (25 minutes after our starters were removed), our waitron was arrogant and unhelpful and after waiting all that time, the mains arrived... I ate here last week and I have to say it was perfect! The food was amazing and the service was excellent as well. It was a little hot in the restaurant but that might be due to the fact that it is August in Maine. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Wow, wasn't sure what to expect. Had a hard time getting a reservation so we took their advice and went in as a walk-in. Service was great, food was exceptional. Would definitely go again.

I have been dining here for allmost 20 years (admittedly once a year while on vacation in Maine) and it remains one of my most favorite restaurants anywhere. I have seen them grow to what is now double their original size and add a nice little bar area where you can get a very dry and very cold martini. And... More

The food was very good. Appetizers: My wife ate a plate of 6 oysters from 3 locations in Maine. She loved it. I had a spinach salad with berries and duck which was very good. Main course: We both had Salmon. She had it in gazpacho, I had mine grilled. They were both very good. Hers was better... For a... More

Highly recommend stopping in here for dinner, or the raw bar. Whatever you choose will be memorable. Ate here last August, 2009. Make reservation.

We were seated promptly. Food was good. Our meals were delivered to us by a server, not our waiter. They were put down and the server rushed away. At no time did our waiter return to ask if everything was OK. It wasn't ,but there was no one around to inform. It was not a great dining experience.

I'm a local and have dined at Street and Company often- often bringing friends there and recommending it to folks visiting Portland. Tonight, as always, the food was wonderful. However, the service, start to finish, was abhorrent. As diners, my wife and I don't need to be coddled by wait staff. However, when we are confronted with one surly individual... More
