On a recent trip to Portland we had been told about Fore Street but opted for the sibling restaurant as it is about seafood. Got off to a bad start as we were on a bus tour that let us off too early so we had to stand around while they got ready to open. The hostess did let us... read more

Try the fresh sardines if they have them. Always order a saute dish - it's the best to eat out of a well seasoned pan. Pasta with white clam sauce - yum!

The atmosphere, the opportunity to view a busy, bustling, kitchen in action, which produces exemplary seafood offerings (other choices, as well, but can only speak for the seafood), hammered-copper tabletops, good bread -- all sublime!

The food here is great, everytime, and the atmosphere is very cozy. Situated in an old Portland building on a cobble stoned side street near the harbor, you must go here if you like seafood. Mussels in pernod and lobster diablo are a couple of their signature dishes. The service is excellent and you'll want for nothing during your meal.... More

we had heard wonderful things about this restaurant from friends and we were not let down. My wife and I had a great meal and the presentation was impressive, the meals were served in the pan and everything was made perfectly. We tried a few of the tasters that they were offering for Appetizers, we had the Crab in peppers,... More

Street and Co. is a wonderful spot for a special occasion. It's located out of the way on the cobblestones of Wharf Street, so you have already begun to slip back in time even before you go through the front door. The dining room is cozy and warm, elegant yet casual, with brick walls and exposed beams. It's a comfortable... More

Atmosphere: excellent. The restaurant is on Wharf St which is a small quaint pedestrian way just off the main street in downtown Portland (Commercial St) in an old building that has been repurposed for the restaurant. Exposed beams, cozy quarters with good acoustics so you can hear your table mate but not what others are saying, and an exposed kitchen... More

My wife and I went here for dinner after reading reviews of good restaurants in Portland. We both love seafood and this seemed like a good choice. We walked to the restaurant on very snowy streets and sidewalks. Apparently in Portland they don't clear them very well despite the fact that it had not snowed in 4 days. The old... More

This has been my favorite place to treat myself & my best friends for over a decade. It is an ultimate location nestled in on a cobblestone side street in the Old Port of Portland Maine. The greatest atmosphere & staff that you could ever ask for. I highly recommend this establishment for any occasion !!!
