At first glance, one might keep pass Bintliff's by, but the lines waiting outside are the key indicator to what is inside. There are no reservations, two small dining rooms, and open only for breakfast and brunch, but Bintliff's does it right. The menu is varied; the food is excellent; the servers attentive and fun and the crowd lingers, which... More

This tiny restaurant serves up enormous portions of delicious breakfast fare. We went on Monday and they were overwhelmed with weekend-level diners and weren't staffed for the onslaught. They told people upfront about it, and asked for patience. Those who opted to wait for a table were treated great, without being rushed to clear the table. Great management and really... More

I had the gingerbread pancakes with warm lemon syrup, they are amazing. There are so many different menu items. I travel for my job, and it's a breath if fresh air to find food with a twist.

Showed up around 10am and had to wait about 40 mins-clearly a local favorite. This brunch spot was recommended by the hotel and overall the food is pretty good, nothing amazing. Is it worth the 40 minute wait? Perhaps...if this is the best that Portland has to offer. After staring at an empty table for 20 minutes - we were... More

Bintliff's American Cafe offers excelent dining right in the heart of Portland, opposite the main post office. Their menu clearly focuses on healthful foods of all kinds, with lots of choices of salads, omelettes, meat and fish. The nicest part of the restaurant is the quieter second floor. This is my first choice in Portland for a sit-down lunch. One... More

Not all that impressed. We felt it was way overpriced and just average food. We would not go again. Quite a lot of people there and I guess people like it but not us

The food here is amazing! I did the food happy dance at the first bite of homemade corned beef hash! The crabcakes benedict my husband enjoyed so much he practically liked his plate! A MUST and I worth the wait!

I am a native, and have been a few times, and know that this place has a stellar reputation, but there are issues. Yes, the wait time is egregious, and yes the clientele balances traditional brunch crowd who think they are being cool, with hipsters who know they are not being cool, in accordance with their code. The omelettes are... More

My wife and I ate their this past Monday: The good: the waiter was cordial. The bad: the corned beef hash was uninspiring. The meat was plentiful and tender, but it lacked any authentic corned beef seasoning flavor, and the raved about potatoes were cold and featureless. The eggs were ordered over medium, and were delivered full cooked and lukewarm.... More
