Excellent fried seafood, huge portions, very low price

Really wonderful seafood, deep fried to a perfect golden brown. Small clams, tiny delectable shrimp, good fries, so-so coleslaw. But who goes for the coleslaw anyway? These people know how to do it right, squeeze bottles of tartar sauce and cocktail sauce delivered with the food (you just won us... read more

We ordered fried oysters and a seafood plater. The portions were generous. The fried oysters were fresh, crispy and satisfying. But the seafood plater was very disappointing. The shrimp, scallops and fish had a slight ammonia flavor which indicates a lack of freshness. I would never eat there again. I am confused with how this restaurant was locally rated as... More

We bought take out from Susan's, and it was OK but not outstanding. Had fried oysters, which were very nicely done; an order of fish and chips; and a lobster roll. Coleslaw and fries came with 2 of the meals. They gave us 3 containers of tartar sauce, which was really 2 more than we needed for the amount of... More

7 of us went to Susan's and she waited on us! Very courteous to all, staff helpful and all of us walked away happy and full! Yes it could use a bit of cleaning however, I loved the sea shack feel and all of the memorabilia throughout the restaurant! The food is a great variety of all Atlantic seafood! We... More

The onion rings were good. The staff was friendly. The fish chowder was bland and I have no idea what gray colored awful fish they used was. The potatoes were slightly under cooked and the fish was disgusting in the chowder. Please come up with a better recipe and stick with haddock or code.

We stopped here while having a weekend away. I ordered the fisherman splatter and my wife got the fish and chips and fried ice cream. The fishermans platter was a bit pricey compared to other places I've been but tasted good. The fish and chips was excellent and well priced. The highlight, at least for my wife, was the fried... I went with my uncle on Halloween evening, which ended up being a slow night for the restaurant. The staff were pleasant and helpful. We got the fried mushrooms, onion rings, fish n chips and fried clams. All was very good; unfortunately some of the clams got stuck together so that some ended up as a glob and not worth... More

They must have deepfried the taste out of the food.. expected better because of all the great reviews but the scallop/calamari combo was not so great. Cold slaw was ok and the staff was friendly but wouldn't return

I only had a lobster roll and thought it was fantastic. The bread wasn't soggy and I liked that the lobster wasn't mixed in with mayo. You can tell them if you don't want much mayo.

If I had to guess what the building was used for in a former life, I'd suppose it was a service station. The beams above are very industrial, but you might not notice them with the variety of nautical items hanging from it, including a rowboat! While Susan's is not anything fancy, don't let that stop you, the food is... More
