There are two things that give me a heads up that I am in for a treat when I go to a restaurant. First is the a nice clean bathroom it inspres confidence that this is a place with attention to detail. Then there is the bread. WoW baked on house you can smell the aromo as you enter the... More

Superb ingredients and perfect execution of dishes makes this place quite special. I was bummed, however, that we had to wait for 40 minutes WITH a reservation. This way, they sell an extra couple of glasses of wine. No comped anything. Wine is well chosen but ridiculously expensive. Service, after you get past the front desk is excellent.

Wonderful evening. Party of six business dinner. Efficient pleasant professional service by appearance, an all female serving staff. No trays used, nice touch, everything hand carried. The wood burning smell adds to the ambiance yet also imparts wonderful flavors to the food. The menu is printed daily and is really creative. I had the monk fish with a peppery sauce... More

We arrived in Portland at about 3pm on a Friday afternoon in August with no dinner reservations. We were advised when we called the restaurant that if we arrived between 5 and 5:30pm we would be seated as soon as possible. We arrived at 5:30 and were seated at 6:30, but not before we enjoyed cocktails while sitting on a... More

Had dinner here for the first time in a couple years and it once again proved to be one of my favorite spots in Portland let alone New England. The menu is incredibly diverse offering a wide variety of selections from fresh local seafood and meats to great salads and awesome desserts(it also changes nightly as they source much of... More

My fiance and I had dinner here on a Sunday evening in August. It was absolutely delicious, the service was top-notch and the ambiance was delightful. We shared the mussels, and we each had fish dishes for our entrees. All was excellent. For dessert we shared a very rich chocolate ganache torte of sorts, and it was fabulous. This restaurant... EVERYTHING was great about our meal. The hostess directed us to the bar and we had a nice glass of wine. Then Adam was our wonderful waiter and helped us through our selections. The food was great and blended well with the atmosphere and our overall experience. Exceptional dishes were the pork belly and Blue fish.

Full disclosure - we did not end up dining at this establishment. But we walked in on our first evening in Portland and were greeted by a friendly woman at the hostess stand. She told us we could get a table in about an hour and to come back in about 40 minutes just to make sure we didn't miss... More

I had the vegetarian selection my spouse had halibut. It is all cooked in a wood burning oven. This shortens the cooking time to minutes. The bar was fun. Excellent food. Worth going.

Arrived without a reservation and waited 45 minutes in the very welcoming bar. The meal was worth every minute of the wait. This place lives up to all the hype. The menu was creative and the preparation was wonderful. Woodfired oven made for a great meal. Only caution, the oven ledns itself to very quick food preparation, so your meal... More
