Unique and fine dining

We had a nice, romantic dinner here while Portland for a weekend getaway. It was our one "splurge" night. We waited for an hour for a table while everyone else walked in and got sat right away. Clearly a place where reservations are a good plan! It was just tricky for us because we were on an "adventure" in a... More

it was a good meal, good service and overall good price. We would not likely go back how ever! We were just not comfortable there, we just felt like we did not belong!

My husband and I ate here on my birthday...I have always wanted to try this restaurant as I have heard so much about it. I felt our waitress was a bit curt and seemed as if she just wanted us to make a choice, eat and leave. It was very expensive and for the amount, presentation and quantity of the... More

I have had the good fortune to have enjoyed several meals here over the past few years. Fore Street never disappoints. I love the sweetbreads, the scallops and anything wood fired. Enjoy a charcuterie and cheese plate in the bar area and relax in one of the comfy chairs or big couch. I always try the featured wine and it... More

I still remember the deliciousness of the pork roast I ordered here when I visited Portland in December. This restaurant oozes New England charm, and has a diverse and delectable menu that packs a ton of flavor and in large portions, to boot! One of my favorite destinations in all of New England, for sure.

Only great things to say. Made a reservation, well in advance, was seated promptly. All tables looked very nice. Salads were big enough to share, and excellent. My halibut and my husbands scallops were perfect. Great sourdough bread. And the dessert, it was amazing. Share one, well worth it!

There were 6 of us arriving at 5:45 in mid March. The wait was one hour, the food tasty (we shared 1 small and 2 large pizzas, 4 salads , 2 glasses of wine and 1 beer for $140)

Delicious food. Each with its own unique combination and presentation. A bit pricey, but overall experience makes it worth the price.
