This is a very popular restaurant. We reserved over a week in advance for a table for two. Upon arrival the restaurant appeared busy. We were seated in a timely fashion. We first ordered a cocktail. I asked for vodka with a side of roses lime juice. The server returned with a bad substitute for roses lime juice and never... More

Place was amazing! Love the open air kitchen, the witty wait staff and the interestingly simple, yet delicious food. We went with 2 kids, 15 and 12 and we all were impressed and satisfied....from oysters, to razor clams, filet, fish, you name it, everything we got was good. Love the smells and unpretentious atmosphere. Keep it up!!!! Walked in and... More

Reservations are a must....Parking is behind the restaurant in a pay lot shared by a bakery. Tell them you have a reservation at Fore. The restaurant layout is brick with beams, looks like an old warehouse. The kitchen is open to view by all the diners....adds to the atmosphere. The food was amazing. I had the venison, and it was... Wow. I had seen the tomato tart on a food show and knew they only served it in season. My unbelievable good luck to be in Portland for the first time....in season! It was delicious and smokey from the wood fired oven. So simple and so delicious. My colleague had a gorgeous salad with fennel and radicchio that was also... More

Menu changes often we were advised depending on local food availability but we came anyway! Had tomato Tate and pork belly appetizer and they were just awesome! Be sure to try their desserts too. Reservation is necessary for this busy restaurant due to its popularity.

This is our second time at Fore Street, we were here two years ago and found it fabulous then, and were not disappointed this time around.

I have been here on a number on occasions over the years and the place never disappoints. Reservations are hard to get so book early as this place is always full. They do keep a few tables open for walk ins but you need to be there early for that. I recommend the duck as it is always moist and... More

We have been a fan of Fore St since it opened. We live 2 1/2 hours away and have always felt it was worth the drive, until now. We had a large party of 7. Our waitress struggled handling our party. Clearly she was new. The duck was over done, the beet salad was saturated with dressing and the fish... More

Great food, great service and a great atmosphere, Our experience was a great one at Fore Street in Portland ME. I have to say that the tomato tart was the single best menu item that i ate off any menu during our recent trip to the coast of Maine.

This was my first visit to Fore Street, and it won't be our last--although I had to make the reservation 6 weeks in advance. The food was delicious. We had whole black bass and bluefish, preceded by salads and tomato pie. The only complaint I would have, other than a need for redecoration, is that the salads arrived way before... More
