A friend recommended we try this place and it was great but a few things I would do differently. We went on a Saturday night which I would avoid. It's packed an noisy we waited about 40 min to be seated. The seats are wooded stools that are uncomfortable after an hour. We did get placed at the end of... More

Checked this place out on trip advisor and decided to try it. Lost faith in fellow trip advisors reviewers when I visited and learned how great it was, The place simple, the menu simple yet elegant the food THE BEST! Had the lobster stew, better than anything I experienced while living in Maine and better than I, an accomplished chef... More

A fun place in Portland. Stopped here for lunch - wait was ~1 hour but we were able to eat at the bar immediately. Lobster roll is my recommendation - perfectly prepared lobster in a delicious outer roll. I would complement the roll with a few of their large selection of oysters.

Because this seems to be the latest hip place for after work drinks it is crowded and chaotic, albeit probably very profitable. But noise levels are high too and seating not very comfortable, perhaps to discourage lingering. BUT the oysters looked delicious ( I can no longer eat them alas) and the choice of condiments inspired and innovative. Husband said... More

We Really enjoyed the crab bun and the battered hake and the raw oysters. The waitress helped pick the oysters and she did a good job. The wait for a table was disorganized and we stood for a while before they took a drink order. It is not really a place for a big dinner but small plates and raw... More

Small plates and Oysters. If you like Oysters, this is the place to try them. This place is a foodie haven. Everything we tried was great! The place is small so be prepared to wait or come at an off time. Well worth my time. One of the best in Portland.

This was a great find on a recent visit to Portland, Maine. The menu was small plates and innovative. The oyster selection was superb. Small place but has ambience of nice bistro. Service was great.

Very small place with limited seating. Staff was pleasant and attentive. Very crowded for a Sunday afternoon at lunchtime. We started with drinks while we waited. The Bloody Mary was excellent as was the Mai Tai. We had a mix of a dozen Maine oysters. The oysters were flavorful but small. At $29 a dozen for local oysters, it just... More

We didn't have to wait which may affect your impression. The oyster sampler was superb. Don't miss eating oysters in Maine---they are top notch. The French press coffee pleased my wife. Her lobster stew was beyond delicious. We shared the clam bake and while it was fun, next time I'd likely focus on the single items instead of this combo.... More

I assumed this was just a regular oyster bar, but it was much more. Everything was superb quality from biscuits to berries. They obviously pay attention to details. Fish stew was superb. Toro special was as good a sashimi as I have had. Lobster roll was excellent, it is not the huge bread with slabs of mayo kind, Go elsewhere... More
