My husband and I just had the clam chowder here. It was incredible, no fillers. The place is very small and CASH ONLY. There is minimal seating inside, but on a nice day, there are several picnic tables outside. Their hours are unique, so check before you go. It is closed a few days a week, and one day is... More

Visited this restaurant based on other reviews. Was looking for the fisherman's Grill sign and only saw the fisherman's net sign. This was kind of confusing but it ended up being right next to each other. Food was excellent but they only accept cash and there were only four tables available for seating.

After reading the reviews, we decided we had to eat lunch here when we arrived in Portland. But we almost didn't because the Fishermen's Grill is such a small, unappealing place from the outside. We were so glad that we went inside because the classic lobster rolls were almost certainly the best lobster rolls either of us has ever eaten.... More

Hands down, Fisherman's Grill gave me my best meal of the trip. I only wish I'd discovered before my last day in town. I would have gone back every day. Yes, it was that good. I ordered the clam chowder, classic size lobster roll, and coleslaw. The clam chowder was peppery and flavorful. It wasn't the thick, heavy, rich clam... More

My partner and I ate the best lobster roll we've ever had. We went on a Friday afternoon (Oct 3, 2014) and were told it is no longer the busy season - we got a small table right inside and the picnic tables were free outside as well, with people coming in and out all the time. We each ordered... More

It took us a few turns to find this place. Set back in a nondescript building and area. So glad we found it though. We had the medium lobster rolls and the clam chowder. Both choices were delicious. The medium roll was huge and had the biggest pieces of claw meat I have ever seen. The mayo dressing was just... More

You will find Fisherman's Grill located at the intersection of Greed and Pretentiousness, otherwise known as 849 Forest Avenue in Portland, Maine. Allow me to explain.   Greed; how else might one explain the prices that this place charges....it sure isn't because of a high overhead.  The place is a dump.  Filth abounds....I could overlook that if the cook ever... After spending the day, Saturday, walking around Old Port in Portland Maine we decided to have seafood for an early dinner. We stumbled across the Fisherman's Grill and decided to give it a go. Initially I was shocked by the size, four (4) small tables with eight (8) chairs. There are a couple of picnic tables outside of the restaurant,... More
