What a gem!

Oh my goodness! I loved this place! Don't give up if you can't find it right away...just go into the courtyard and down the stairs behind the building. It's tucked away around the corner down an alley. It's worth seeking out, for sure! Everyone is super friendly and knowledgeable, and the beer... read more

Great atmosphere and floor plan. Lounge area, long tables for communal dining and a decent amount of space at the bar. The beer list is extensive, a good selection, especially if you like Belgians. Probably 20-30 beers on tap. The bottle selection is much larger. We had some snacks but not a full meal, the food was delicious and the... More

We stopped in on a recent trip to Portland. An extensive beer list, knowledgeable and friendly staff and long wood tables where you can get to know other patrons. Food was very good and different from typical pub food. The crowd was a mix where everyone could feel comfortable - there were students, families, tourists, older folks. Definitely a unique... More

This place was pretty cool but definitely hard to find. We wandered around with Google map trying to pinpoint its exact location. Well, it's in an inner courtyard off the sidewalk. The establishment itself looks like what I imagine an old European pub would look like. Dim lit with long tables and barrels. The weather was great, so we took... More

I felt like I was in a European bar...what a great place, but it is not easy to find (even once you are in the "courtyard" it is not obvious!). Great selection of beers on draft as well as in bottles. A few interesting munchies and sandwiches. We had the cheese plate which was terrific to go with the hearty,... More

This place was awesome! Warm old style European pub feel, with low ceilings, October fest style tables (picnic), unbelievable world bier list.

Went with a group of friends. The food is not your average fare, everything had a unique twist. Where else can you get a burger between two slices of pizza or two mac'n cheese patties. Good beer selection.

not what I expected. THe beer list is okay. Certainly sub-par compared to TGLB. If you are downtown, this is the place to try. If not, head to The Great Lost Bear for a better selection.

This is one of the top 100 beer bars in America and it deserves it. First I will say it is hard to find. It is literally a hidden treasure. We sat on the lovely deck and it took a while for someone to give us menus. We ended up going inside to consult with the bartender about which beers... More

This is the bar for you if you love to try different types of beer in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. There are a crazy number and variety of beer on tap. The bartenders were full of great information about the beer and would offer a small tasting to help us decide. The bottle menu is like a reference book and... More
