Proper, fresh, amazing.

Portland, Maine is a food lovers paradise. Pai men is the crown jewel in the Portland food scene. They source much of their fare from local farms or from their own farms. Fresh is the word. The staff is young, energetic and skilled. The menu is vibrant, ever changing and always top shelf. One of... read more

I wish my office was a little closer to Longfellow square as I would eat lunch here all the time. The lunch menu is one of the best values in town. Everything is perfection. Especially the ceviche.

This place is incredible. Try the Brussels sprouts even if you hate them, it will change your opinion! You will get your weekly amount of sodium in one sitting but it is soooooo worth it. The flavors are perfectly balanced. Do not miss this place if you are in Portland!

As our first time grabbing lunch here it's was interesting for sure. We walked into a curtain when we first opened the door, followed by extreme humidity, heat, and loud music. It's very casual. We took a seat and has to uncomfortabley strip a layer off as the ventilation was poor, it made the restaurant feel like a steam room.... More

Being Japanese and from LA, I wasn't sure what to expect but since I was freezing, hot ramen sounded perfect! After a short wait (it is a small place and apparently quite popular) we got a table and settled into a very (inadvertently) big lunch. The lunch deal is definitely a deal...You'd think for a discount you'd get a smaller... More

I've been listening to my coworkers rave about Pai Men Miyake for a few months now (something I've become skeptical about in food fad crazed Portland, ME). I finally managed to make my way up and try it out. Myself and my boyfriend found the ramen to be average. Bland in flavor and options. Also lacking that punch of flavor... More

Another winner from Miyake. Terrific small plates (pork buns were moist, in soft dough, with tasty sauce and a bit of zing; chicken noodles in a broth). My son really liked the ramen noodles -- and he's a college student in NY, so that makes him an expert. Good selection of craft beers. The rest of the menu looked inviting... More

I never knew ramen could be so delicious and healthy! I had the one with kimchee and beef. Wow it was so good I went back again already for more of the same! The beer selection is incredible. Even for Portland, there's lots of great beers from near and far. And the sushi was so fresh and sumptuous. I can't... More

Finding good Ramen (ラーメン) is not easy even in Japan. Many places are mediocre. Portland is amazing to have wonderful and authentic Japanese restaurants like this place and Miyake.

This place is a total hipster dive. The sushi was edible bu the noodlea were not so good. They had music blasting the hole time. U would not go back.
