Great Gulf Coast po' boys

My husband and I have eaten here twice. We have tried the gumbo, sausage po'boy, muffeletta, and fried shrimp po' boy. The gumbo was just so-so, but the sandwiches were excellent. A really nice treat from the south on a winter day in Maine! Service is excellent and short wait times. Cost is... read more

Okay, I know, my title is not the most pleasant one, But went in here with my girlfriend knowing it was a sandwich shop, and getting her to agree to a sandwich is like getting the Vatican to agree the Big Bang Theory has merit. I order the Pulled Pork, She orders the Golden Fried Fish. Mine was spot on,... More

Got take out from this place. The reuben was delicious. The jerk chicken wings were amazing. Be careful don't confuse the "ginger soda" with "gingale" I would defiantly come back.

We enjoy eating here and do so 3 or 4 times a year. The salads and sandwiches are consistently good. Our only complaint is that whenever we visit, the dining room is always a mess; the tables are dirty; the salt and pepper shakers are near empty and dirty; and tonight, the ketchup bottle was near empty and the ketchup... This place has got it down. I lived in south Louisiana for many years and it is hard to find quality of food anywhere else. I had an oyster po-boy (large) and some Zapp's chips, which are, of course, from Louisiana. Had a local beer which was a nice complement. What makes it work -- the bread. If you can't... More

If you love New Orleans style po boy sandwiches, this place is for you. They use fresh Maine seafood to offer a wide variety of po boy sandwiches in several sizes. We had the fried fish and fried shrimp po boys. They were excellent. Prices are very reasonable. There is no waitress service meaning you order at the counter and... More

This small local sandwich shop has a great menu of New Orleans style sandwiches, great sweet tea and awesome sweet potato fries. Our son suggested we try it on a trip to Portland and since then, it has been a favorite lunch spot. I love the Reuben with thick slices of corned beef and locally made sauerkraut, but there are... Big fan of this place, great Sandwiches and the voodoo wings are awesome. Perfect takeout place for a lazy Sunday... The only complaint I have is the line is long which is a very good thing for them

Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try while driving through Maine. We were really happy we did - the food was very good. I had the BBQ beef po boy and my partner had the blackened fish sandwich. We also opted for the fried pickles - just to try them - and were so glad... More
