I love, love, love the Olive Cafe. The food is ALWAYS delicious, and the space is charming. Staff is friendly and I can't think of anywhere else in Portland you can get baked kibbe. (It's sometimes a special--not always on the menu--but I always get it when it's there!) My husband swears by the beef shwarma. I have been many... More

We called in the Olive simply because we were passing in hungry. What a great place! The menu was ideal as one of our party was a vegetarian. The cafe was full and whilst waiting for our lunch to arrive we listened to the appreciative comments coming from the tables around us. Our meal was superb and we would have... More

A wonderful place to meet for lunch in the Old Port. The booths are a great feature if you are hosting a small meeting. I particularly like the Lebanese vegetarian entrees. The owner is from Beirut and his wife is American. Have not been there for dinner, but they give you dinner coupons when you go for lunch.

I really enjoyed my visit to the Olive Cafe. It is extremely small (only one waitress) but they don't skimp on the personal touches. I ordered the chicken kabobs with a side of garlic sauce. My food arrived quickly and was excellent. Given the location I expected the price to be much higher but found it very reasonable. I will... More

The place is cute and the service and food are both good but for some reason, they have extra charges for just about everything you order. My boyfriend and I are not gluten-free fanatics but we avoid bread for the most part because it makes him feel like crap. So: he decided on the beef tacos ($8.99 for 2) and... More

This is a fabulous restaurant right in the heart of the historic district. The atmosphere is cozy, a small place that reminds me of little bistros in NYC. The food is outstanding. Wonderful Meditarranean dishes, flatbread pizzas, salads and soups are perfectly spiced and served. We had the Fatoush salad, with roasted cauliflower, cukes, lettuce, and these wonderful warm pita... More

When you have had your fill of seafood, come here for something different. A small cafe with a limited menu, but the food is excellent. We loved the chicken shawarma and the salad with falafel. Spices and sauces are yummy. A limited wine and beer selection is also available. Service is friendly and not rushed.

Limited menu but absolutely delicious food. Very small space with some great Mediterranean dishes including a specials board with a couple of extra appies and entrees. We had chicken and lamb and both were great. Nice wine menu and a full bar. Shared some very tasty baklava and a turkish coffee. Don't walk past it!
