This was recommended by a local bartender and was spot on. The espresso martini was wonderful, and we are martini snobs. Desert was equally fabulous. Yeah!

Lots of unique fancy cocktails, very friendly staff and best of all chocolate! Very warm and welcoming when you walk in, staff are great. One thing I loved was it was someones birthday and before they sang happy birthday the bartender went around the room and whispered her name to everyone so they could join in. Really nice personal touch.

Really wonderful drink combinations that will suit any palate at all. Quite enough to hold a good conversation. The walk on cobble stones to get their is dangerous and the bar is not well marked - probably good as that makes it a hidden gem. Will surely go back with a small group of friends that enjoy good drinks and... More

After having a stingy dinner of oyster in a nearby oyster bar, we told ourselves to have a great deal of dessert. This cafe is located along a wide pedestrian road unevenly paved with bricks reminiscent of Europe side streets. We were looking and looking guided by our phone app and we were startled to see it just right under... More

My husband and I went here after dinner for our anniversary. It was so nice it was a very chill environment and my pomegranate martini was so good. the only issue we had was it was very pricey but it was in the old port so we kind of expected that.

Our group of 3 couples stopped in around 10:30 on a Saturday evening. It was a very nice experience. It is a small cafe and we had to wait several minutes to be seated because we were a group of 6 and it was a beautiful Saturday night in Portland. By the time that we arrived at 10:30 they had... My wife and I experienced this place twice while in Portland and we still talk about it. They make a variety of drinks and desserts that are outstanding. The peanut butter martini was one of the best drinks I've ever had. There creme brulee is perfect, the chocolate pie is sinful. If in Portland, you gotta go there.

Part of our family was visiting from Virginia. After dinner at Caiola's, an excellent bistro, we decided to stroll in the Old Port. The Bar of Chocolate on Wharf Street was too hard to resist. We had the chocolate martini (great) and the chocolate cake (equally so) in an attempt at overdosing on chocolate. None of us were overdosed but... More

What a happy find to stumble upon this place while walking around Portland. Very cool vibe. Quiet and intimate with comfy chairs. Best of all they have a great cocktail menu and some excellent desserts. Some places will look at you cross-eyed when you order a classic cocktail like a Sazerac, and others will make a lame version of one.... More
