Hot suppa is supa dupa

Went here with my family for dinner and then lunch two days later recently. This is now a Portland favorite. In fact I think it's quintessential Portland - quirky, unbelievably great, and super friendly. This place serves creative, very tasty food. But please note it is a casual setting, no... read more

We were drawn by the great reviews and really liked the funky atmosphere when we walked in. We quickly realized how warm it was on a hot summer morning, though. Service was quick and friendly, and ultimately the best part of the meal. I knew $16 was a lot to pay for fiddlehead eggs benedict (fiddleheads being the unfurled top... More

My husband & I wanted to find a nice place to have dinner the last night of our trip yet be away from the madness of the waterfront since it was Saturday of Memorial Day weekend so we choose Hot Suppa. We had been to Louisiana 2 years ago & fell in love with the food. Although Hot Suppa provides... More

We got take-out from Hot Suppa, and it was great. I had a delicious mac and cheese, and a beet salad with goat cheese. YUM. My husband had a burger and fries which he had no trouble polishing off. The prices were reasonable, too, which can't be said for all of the restaurants we ate at in Portland.

We had lunch here during a recent visit to Portland. We both loved the colorful, funky vibe. The food has a southern quality that one does not expect in Maine. There were some gluten-free options, which we appreciated. My friend had a burger, which looked incredible, along with crispy, delicious fries; she loved it. I had the incredible corned beef... A small eatery with that something unique and appetising. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience of dining at Hot Suppa. There is a real mix of a menu, that makes you want to step outside of your normal eating comfort zone and try something a bit more adventurous. Our server, whose name we did not catch but on our check it... More

Cuban sandwich and french fries are the best I've had. I wanted the fried chicken, which I also heard was amazing, however they had sold out prior to when I arrived...

We hit this place up for a late breakfast and it didn't disappoint. I ordered the fried green tomato benedict and my husband had a small order of french toast and the daily special breakfast sandwich. I also got a (very spicy!) bloody mary. The benedict sauce was one of the best I have ever tasted. Very lemony/citrus tasting and... More

YUM! Stopped in for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised. The staff made me feel like an old friend. The atmosphere is cozy. The food isn't fussy, but it is damn delicious. The bread tasted like it was freshly baked, the cheese was ooey-gooey and the soup was just the right mix of tomato-ey and creamy. I asked the... More

Stopped here for Happy Hour and stayed for supper. We had a difficult time deciding what to have because so many things sounded good! No one in our group of 4 was disappointed . Good selection of local beers, knowledgable wait person , fresh oysters, delicious grits with shrimp, Korean barbecue sandwich and oyster po'boy (bigger oysters desirable!) sandwich. We'll... More
