Favorite Brunch in Portland - worth the wait

Despite usually having to wait quite a bit we never regret our decision to brunch here. The brunch menu is great, I usually stick to eggs, sausage and hash browns, maybe a waffle- all delicious. They also have great bagels and spicy bloody mary's.

I went out with my cousin for the $1 oyster happy hour, ordered and ate. We looked at the menu again and ordered meals because the food sounded so good. We were not disappointed. THe drinks were very tasty as well.

We got here at 8:15am on a Saturday and were seated right away, but the place quickly filled up and there was a large crowd waiting before 9! Food and service were both good. Biscuits and gravy were delicious and the waffle was very tasty as well. We also loved the atmosphere and really enjoyed taking in the beautiful artwork... More

The food here is great, but apparently everyone knows it. There was a hefty wait to get one of the few tables. But we already knew that from a previous visit and were happy to wait again!

Hot Suppa is our "Go To" restaurant in Portland Maine. We love low country cooking, and this is the only restaurant around serving grits, hot cat fish, corn bread, and creamy grits and shrimp. We also love the fact that there are always many gluten free selections on the menu. Many restaurants simply remove the bread from their regular selections.... More

Let me say, this is the old "Good Egg" place in Portland. Nothing much has changed since the 1980"s. Good food, friendly people, good prices. But, the booths are tiny. I'm of average size, 5'9 170, the booth was cramped, the table nearly touching me, even when sitting against the back of the bench. I was with other people that... More

We've eaten here before and we're never disappointed. Although it's usually a wait, particularly for a large party, the food is consistently good.

Hot Suppa is a very nice, low key eatery in downtown Portland. I had excellent ribs, collard greens and corn bread. I recommend this nice restaurant.

This place was great! The food was delicious and well priced. I would recommend the buttermilk pie which was terrific! There was a small wait at the beginning but we were quickly seated. The atmosphere was nice and there was some southern jazz playing in the background. It was quite and nit overcrowded. There was a wide variety of dishes.... More

Perhaps the best meal for the price I have ever had. Don't be fooled by the booths and casual diner atmosphere. This is top notch food at very reasonable prices. For 3 with drinks and desert it was $100. The selection of fresh local brews was outstanding. We had catfish, Cornish hen and hangar streaks for our main courses. And... More
