Fine Dining Sushi

Reminiscent of fine dining in Japan. The menu tends to change everyday. This isn't like a typical Sushi Bar as it doesn't have the standard checklist of numerous rolls and sashimi. Instead you select some specialty dishes for four different courses. As your in Portland, go for the Lobster ones.

Nice cute restaurant. Ordered $55 four courses set. Portion was right. Pork belly with fried oyster was delicious. Miso grilled cod was not bad either.

We have traveled in Japan extensively and rarely find Japanese food in the US, especially in smaller cities, that is satisfactory. Miyake was exceptional. Inventive, yet authentic. Local and farm to table, yet captured the essence of the Japanese flavors.

Sushi was excellent, as was seaweed salad and other things we ordered. Food was presented beautifully, and service was efficient and unobtrusive.

Portland, Maine is one of our favorite getaway spots from the hectic NYC pace. It is also just a wonderful laid back and beautiful places to visit. As NYers, food is a big deal for us and Miyake is a MUST DO when visiting. It is an intimate place, not too big or tight and the food is simply fantastic.... More

My husband (of Japanese ancestory) had the chef's choice sushi option which was creative and all excellent according to him. It was good quality fish skillfully prepared worth the price. I had salmon appetizer and pork cutlet coated in Parmesan and panko crumbs. Excellent. Beer and wine is available.

Dropped in for quick bite at lunch and was well pleased. Their take on the ubiquitous lobster roll was the highlight but the pork belly wasn't far behind. Wish I had more time to explore the menu further.

This restaurant is truly amazing. The Omakase is unique, affordable and all food presented is of the absolute highest quality. The ingredients are all local, which puts a really cool spin on typical Japanese fare. We sat at the sushi bar, which made the experience even better. The chefs were friendly and cooperative willing to explain everything they were doing... More

The Omakase is delicious and very creative. You'll have the best experience sitting right up at the sushi bar so you can watch all of the talented chefs work. The price is also spot on, $65 for 8 courses all of which are delicious. Some of the highlights are the raw Maine lobster on the first sashimi platter and the... More
