My friend and I stumbled on this restaurant on a recent visit from Australia, and what a lucky find! Being a busy night we weren't able to get a table but were immediately seated at the bar and attended to by the lovely bar tender who catered to our every need and guided us through the wine list, recommending perfect... It's not often that a party of five all love their respective dishes, and we had that experience. Everything was very fresh and wonderfully flavorful. We drank a very good Greek wine. The waiter was really helpful in that department. The room has a cozy feeling and we were made very welcome. Emilitsa is a great place for a special... More

My husband and I went out for our anniversary dinner a couple of nights ago. This was a wonderful dining experience. The surroundings are warm and cozy. The owner was mingling with the guests and it was very nice to meet him. The wait staff and our particular waitperson was knowledgeable about the food choices and the wine menu. Our... More

We really enjoyed our experience at Emilitsa. Warm inviting atmosphere is enhanced by the exposed brick wall and the welcoming staff. Lighting could have been a tad brighter instead of the club-like dim. We were offered a complementary appetizer of lentil bean dip with homemade pita - it was excellent. We order vegetarian entrees and they did not disappoint. Somewhat... More

Well designed with most tables along one brick wall, bar in front and a larger table in the back. Seemed to seat about 35 people. No cheezy pseudo-Greek photos and "stuff". One host/owner on front and his brother running the kitchen. Every dish was superb. Every dish conveyed a sense that ots creator cared greatly for each ingredient and how... More

A Greek told me to go there and that the food was wonderful . We found his conclusion to be correct. The fish was particularly well done. very clean looking food. they serve Greek wines that paired very well with the food. This is a must go place in Portland.

I've literally lost count of the number of times I've eaten at Emilitsa. It's THAT GOOD. I always know that I can count on several things when I dine there: The owner is always there to greet me and remembers my name. My friends and I are promptly seated. The wait staff is always friendly and knowledgable about the menu... More

We love coming to the Old Port for many reasons but most of all because of all the fine dining restaurants. We found a gem this evening! We dined at Emilista Greek Restaurant. It truly was wonderful. I had the lamb entree and my husband the duck entree. Both meals were cooked to perfection! Our waitress recommended a nice red... More

What a find this restaurant is. Who would expect what must be one of the best Greek restaurants to be hiding out in Portland Maine. We were introduced to this restaurant by our friends Byron and Alex who know good food. Each of the dishes we had surpassed the last absolutely delicious. Not fussy not trendy just great food with... As part of our visit to Portland, we had the good fortune of eating at Emilitsa. All we can say is that the food was nothing short of amazing, the service was impeccable and our overall experience proved to be one of the best dining experiences we've ever had in our lives and we've had many. Must visit in our... More
