My wife and I enjoyed Emilista the other night, and the walk through the snowstorm was very much worth it. The service was friendly, professional and very knowledgeable about the wine list, which is exclusively Greek wines. I was apprehensive about this at first, but was pleasantly surprised at the high quality of our wine. Our waitress suggested pairings with... More

I took my wife to Emilitsa for Valentine's Day, and we were FAR from disappointed! Emilitsa was the PERFECT place for a nice, romantic dinner. First things first... Emilitsa is an authentic Greek restaurant, not your local gyro shop. Reservations are a must, if you want a table; otherwise, they offer approx. 8 bar seats for walk-ins. Expect to drop... More

First off, the restaurant is very cozy and romantic. When we arrived we were immediately greeted and sat at a quiet table. There was greek music playing in the background and being a full "Greek", it was nice to hear. The menu was a special one for Valentines Day. The appetizer/salad was amazing: Fresh vegetables, feta and olive oil all... More

We went to Emilitsas Greek restaurant and it was the best Greek food I have ever had! The owner John was very polite and spoke to us a few times during the night. A very polite gentleman. The food was amazing as well as the service. We are Greek and have tried it all but the food was to die... More

While Portland has been lucky to attract the number and variety of very good restaurants in the last few years, Emilitsa stands out as one of those which make me feel so lucky to live nearby. Now, I grew up eating gyros and baklava from time to time, and expanded my palate to include souvlaki, dolmathes, loukoumades, and thick Greek... More

Emilitsa's is one of the very best restaurants in a city with more and more fabulous ones, and is a huge favorite of mine. It presents delicious Greek food, beautifully prepared in a sophisticated atmosphere with great service. I returned here a few days ago with a friend from Boston whom I had taken here previously, and we returned at... More

Emilitsa is the my chosen restaurant to celebrate special occasions, bring friends who are visiting Portland, or when I need (in the mood for) an escape from the daily grind. The décor and atmosphere emits relaxed energy, due to the just right amount of space between the tables (it is not one of those places that jams in the patrons)... More

We traveled to Portland, Maine in August to celebrate our one year anniversary. A good friend recommended several places but we ended up choosing Emilitsa because of the great reviews and our love of Greek food. We were not disappointed. The restaurant itself was small but the rustic decor, simple table settings and soft lighting created an intimate feel. Everything... More

We went for a very early dinner before a show at the State Theater. The menu was lovely and our friends knew their Greek food and wines. We had very good service (we were the only table for most of the time). Along with our friends advice and our waitresses patience we found some excellent options and tried a variety... More
