Like our trip to Greece!

This was excellent food that reminded us of our trip to Greece. The owner and staff were solicitous and helpful.

There was nothing we ordered that wasn’t exceptional and nothing about the whole evening that wasn’t excellent. The highlight may have been the kefalograviera meh syka saganaki (see? see?)… Apparently this translates to “crispy funky pan seared sheep cheese with peppered figs and really great balsamic cinnamon syrup.” Tables are a bit close together, but we got lucky and landed... Another fantastic dinner at Emilista last night. No special occasion, but just a night out with my fiance. We shared a few appetizers, had a couple of drinks and enjoyed dessert. We've been to Emilista on numerous occasions over the years. Neither I nor anyone I have ever been with has ever had a bad experience. The service is always... More

We were very much looking forward to a birthday celebration and were the first table seated. After an hour waiting for our entrée, we asked the waitress the status. She looked flustered and came back to say the owner was checking on it. He (apparently the owner) came to the table and held up his hand and said "5 minutes".... More

Five of us went for an early evening family celebration, the first table seated. Our wine and salads came quickly. Half an hour later, no sign of our entrees (though people seated later had their's), so we ordered 2nd glasses of wine and asked about our food. The waitress had no answer. After a bit, the owner came over, implied... More

My mate and I travel to Portland a few times a year and enjoy the abundance of fine dining establishments in the city. Last Friday night at Emilitsa was the most enjoyable dining experience we have ever had here. The decor is calm, understated, and tasteful, making use of the brick walls on either side of the narrow restaurant space.... More

Made a reservation to this restaurant based on reviews we read on Trip Advisor. I wanted something special because we were celebrating my husband’s birthday. We were not disappointed. It is not a big restaurant, which we liked. The atmosphere is intimate, the décor tasteful. The food!!!! Fresh and original. The wait staff was great; very knowledgeable of the menu... More

We stepped in unexpectedly on a cold snowy evening with no reservation, but the host, (and I believe owner) insisted that we wait for just a few minutes, and we were seated in the only open table within 10 minutes. Our meal of a whole fish (filleted at the table) was out of this world. Everything was delicious and the... More

Emilitsa is quintessentially Greek. The food is fresh and well prepared. The restaurant is decorated in warm tones, providing a relaxed atmosphere. I have encountered several people who have also enjoyed this restaurant and these range from casual diners to real foodies. Never a bad review. The restaurant is above average in cost, but worth every penny!

Emilitsa is one of our favorite places to eat. If you close your eyes, you could just as easily be in Boston, New York, or somewhere in the Mediterranean. The decor is simple but elegant. Unlike many restaurants, Emilisa is quiet, even when the restaurant is full. So, the dining experience is very pleasant. This is a family owned restaurant,... More
