We made reservations for 12 to celebrate a 90th birthday. The menu we saw online was quite diverse and not too expensive. When we got to the restaurant and were seated, there was a one sheet 'special menu' that they give to banquets. Being a group of 12, they considered us a banquet. The 'special menu' had 4 entrees and... More

After 142 years this place was sold from the original family line. We were here last year for the 4th and loved it, so we stayed here again this year. Can't beat the Maine coastal view, one of the best. As said, under new ownership, a few things needed to make things better, but I'm sure the new co. will... More

We were told that we couldn't get reservations in the main dining room, so we went down to eat at Ocean Terrace (adjacent). The main dining room was only half full at best. Meanwhile the Ocean Terrace, both outside and at the bar, was very busy, and our waitress was less than attentive.

The Cliffhouse is clean, modern and has a friendly staff you simply cannot beat the views! There is an indoor and outdoor pool which is great since is no beach access (due to the cliffs)

We stayed in the adult spa hotel and I could not believe how wonderful the spa staff were. We sat in the hot tub outside overlooking the gorgeous ocean, then we ate in their restaurant and they were fabulous also.. We relaxed in the main area and listened to wonderful live music. The excitement in the air regarding a large... More

Go for the location, spa and view. Plan to eat out. Owners recently sold to a larger outfit. Expect it to be closed for about a year in 2015

We have had Sunday brunch here at least once for everyone of our mid-June vacations. The food is extensive and quite good, a selection of standard brunch fare, including desserts, and an omelette station. The quality of the food is as good as it has ever been but the selection is a bit less than previous years. The view is... More

We were one of three couples in the dinning room as the Resort and restaurant were closing in 5 days. The Resort sits on top of a cliff and the restaurant overlooks the edge of the cliff. This offers a magnificent view of the waves crashing against the rocks which are lighted at night. We enjoyed our table in front... More

We had an early dinner with friends. We were seated at a table near the window. But our view of the ocean was blocked by a wall between the large windows. Additionally, the table position required two of us to sit with our backs to the ocean view. We asked to be seated at one of the many empty tables... More
