Enjoy lobster, steamers, lobster rolls, chowder and a whole lot more in a friendly, casual atmosphere. Live lobsters caught by local lobstermen wait in tanks filled with ocean water coming straight from the cove. Choose your size and two sides. For all the taste without the work, have a lobster roll any way you like it...a quarter pound single, double-stuffed, triple, or an entire pound on a buttery toasted roll with or without mayo. The lobster wrap and lobster BLT are also recently added favorites. Homemade chowder made from an old family recipe is a great way to start your meal, there's no thickening flour just the perfect combination of clams, fish, potatoes, onions and spices in a milk and cream base. The "Shack" has been owned and operated by the Evans family since the 1980s and is proud to serve the hottest chowder and the coldest beer in town. Let Jason, his family and his crew provide you with a true Maine eating experience in the oldest restaurant in Perkins Cove...

Quaint establishment with its own charm. Old beams and low ceiling, you can tell it has been around a very long time. Very small menu could see lobster coming in one door and into the cookpot... very fresh and tasty. Generally a lineup but we'll worth the wait. Very good chowder, my companions had clam bake and lobster dinner. All... More

I had looked forward to visiting this Lobster Shack after missing it for too many years. December in Maine does not lend itself to a lot of places staying open and unfortunately this held true with this restaurant. My wife and I will continue to remember it fondly and hopefully find ourselves back there at some point. Plan to visit... More

I used a different tool other than "TA" (y*lp) and found this place. It was listed as the best restrauant in the area. We headed here our first night. If I had not loved the food, I would have said it was crowded, difficult to park, guy taking my order had an attitude, and no view (unless you married as... More

Love visiting Perkins Cove in Fall. Best time for a fresh Maine lobster roll from the Lobster Shack. I have never been disappointed and truly feel like they have the best Lobster Roll on the East Coast. Under 20 bucks gets you a cold beer and a huge lobster roll.

Our first day in Maine we walked the Marginal Way into Perkins Cove and were starving. I had read about The Lobster Shack on Trip Advisor and was looking for it. We passed by a number of other restaurants that looked inviting and our hunger almost won out before we located the Lobster Shack. it is just beyond the draw... More

Had lobster, steamers, chowder and beer the first visit. Fresh and delicious. Then I could not leave Perkins Cove without having THAT amazing chowder one more time. Went back for 2 bowls ( $8.50 a bowl) as soon as they opened the very next day. KILLER ! It could easily be Award Winning. Owner says its his Aunts recipe. Recommend... More
