Enjoy lobster, steamers, lobster rolls, chowder and a whole lot more in a friendly, casual atmosphere. Live lobsters caught by local lobstermen wait in tanks filled with ocean water coming straight from the cove. Choose your size and two sides. For all the taste without the work, have a lobster roll any way you like it...a quarter pound single, double-stuffed, triple, or an entire pound on a buttery toasted roll with or without mayo. The lobster wrap and lobster BLT are also recently added favorites. Homemade chowder made from an old family recipe is a great way to start your meal, there's no thickening flour just the perfect combination of clams, fish, potatoes, onions and spices in a milk and cream base. The "Shack" has been owned and operated by the Evans family since the 1980s and is proud to serve the hottest chowder and the coldest beer in town. Let Jason, his family and his crew provide you with a true Maine eating experience in the oldest restaurant in Perkins Cove...

Mmmmm Good!

This very cute lobster shack was smack in the middle of Perkins Cove. The lobster was delicious and they cracked it for you. We also had the lobster roll which was good. Entire staff was fun/friendly. Would definitely recommend. It was not crowded when we went.

The lobster shack is right on Perkins Cove Road. You order and then they seat you at a table and bring out your food. There was a line to be seated. I ordered the lobster roll (comes with chips and coleslaw) and a fish chowder lunch special. The lobster tail was really tasty: light on mayo and mostly tail meat... More

We stop here everytime we are in Ogunquit. Love the quaint atmosphere and the most friendly staff. We always get the steamed lobster. They sometimes have a special on two 1lb lobsters....but this time they didn't. We still ordered two 1.5lb lobsters and they were delicious as were the corn on the cob and potatoe salad sides. Bit pricey, but... More

Stumbled onto this place not realizing it is one of the go-to places in New England for lobster rolls. It was perfect. And the coleslaw was outstanding. The clam chowder may be the best I ever had. Enjoyed a tasty local brew on tap while we waited for our takeout order. Nice folks inside.

I couldn't wait to get back to the lobster shack. Ate here 3 years ago and it was better the second time around. Stayed in Maine for 5 days, 5 lobster rolls at different restaurants. The shack was number one for lobster roll, perfectly toasted roll just enough mayonnaise and tasty lobster meat. And nothing extra no shredded lettuce no... More

Thank you so much Jennifer! We strive to stay very traditional with our lobster roll. Lobster can stand on its own.... no need for any fillers or spices. We're so glad you liked our coleslaw as well. We make it everyday. More

Living in Connecticut but loving Maine, we have to have as many Lobster Rolls here. They just don't know how to make it in CT and no one makes it better in ME! Good Value, fresh, fresh, fresh and delicious. Casual (as appropriate) lobster dining at a great price! A must go.

Had the lobster roll & a diet Pepsi...for $25! The lobster roll was good, but fairly small and not very filling. It came with chips I could by at a convenience store and three pickle slices. Throw in $7 to park & you have a small lobster roll, chips, pickle and a can of pop for $32. Perkins Cove is... More

Hi Jack, We've tried to contact you and Tripadvisor about your misplacement of this review. You definitely did not dine at our place. We don't serve Pepsi products or any sodas in a can. We also have no pickles in the entire restaurant. If you ever find yourself back in Perkins Cove, please check us out. Our lobster roll is... More

Been to Perkins Cove often and have eaten in most of the restaurants there. Decided to try The Lobster Shack based on good things we heard. A lobster roll, chowder and cole slaw. Perfect choice. Everything was so fresh. The lobster roll has big chunks of chilled tail, claw and knuckles, no leg pieces for filler on a toasted bun.... More

Lynda, I'm so happy you enjoyed our place! We love serving simple, fresh, homemade New England favorites. This little lobster joint has been a family affair since the 80s. More

We were so happy we decided to have lunch at this great restaurant. Chowder, shrimp cocktail, lobster roll, and lobster BLT were all absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back next time we are in Ogunquit.
