Enjoy lobster, steamers, lobster rolls, chowder and a whole lot more in a friendly, casual atmosphere. Live lobsters caught by local lobstermen wait in tanks filled with ocean water coming straight from the cove. Choose your size and two sides. For all the taste without the work, have a lobster roll any way you like it...a quarter pound single, double-stuffed, triple, or an entire pound on a buttery toasted roll with or without mayo. The lobster wrap and lobster BLT are also recently added favorites. Homemade chowder made from an old family recipe is a great way to start your meal, there's no thickening flour just the perfect combination of clams, fish, potatoes, onions and spices in a milk and cream base. The "Shack" has been owned and operated by the Evans family since the 1980s and is proud to serve the hottest chowder and the coldest beer in town. Let Jason, his family and his crew provide you with a true Maine eating experience in the oldest restaurant in Perkins Cove...

Amazing seafood

Ok its a lobster shack but all their seafood is amazing and fresh! No need to overpower or over season the tasty gifts from the Atlantic here! We ordered a medium lobster, a lobster blt and also fish tacos. Everything was delicious, at first we thought we ordered too much food but after the first... read more

Our first trip here and it won't be our last. I chose the lobster BLT and it was loaded with lobster and very filling. Came with chips and coleslaw. Also chose a blueberry ale. My husband got the fish sandwich and he raved about how fresh it was. Nothing is fried here. Next time planning to get the fish tacos... More

Very simple fare in a simple setting, wood tables and order at the counter, but the food is wonderful. Limited menu and limited seating, but one of the best meals we've ever had.

What can I say....this was by far the best lobster I had on vacation in Maine. Fresh picked, cooked to perfection and with just the right amount of mayo on a freshly toasted bun. Lunch deal for a lobster roll and steaming cup of delicious chowder was $19! Service is fast too! The place literally is a shack and not... More

Not bad but have had a better lobster roll. The town can get very crowded and parking is expensive like everything else in Maine at this time of year

We ate here several times in our stay a couple of years ago. We were traveling home from New Brunswick and had to stop again on a Sunday afternoon. Perkins Cove is a very busy place on a hot Sunday in August. Free parking is very limited and paid parking is expensive, $20. We were fortunate and got a free... More

It's lobsta time! Lobsta time! Lobsta time! That's all that was running through my head as we finally arrived at our first but most anticipated stop of this Maine trip. The only lobster I've had previous to this trip was pretty much cheating: lobster tail that's already been split open, prepared and dressed up ready for fork and knife at... More

We have been here a total of 4 times and highly recommend it. It's worth any wait. Staff is fabulous, friendly and quick. We always get the twin lobsters and soup. The corn is fresh and perfect and so are the lobsters. My 8 year old son says this is his all time favorite restaurant.
