Friendly service, nice meal

Gypsy Sweethearts used to be a must for our annual visits to Ogunquit. I didn't necessarily always live what I ordered, but the atmosphere and service made up for the occasional off meal. When they added outdoor seating we were thrilled to give it a go. Unfortunately a downpour forced us inside... read more

My dad and I came here after a local, at the juice bar, recommended us to go. We went early and were able to get a table outside. The atmosphere was great. The tables were set up nicely and the flowers around the dining area were very pretty. Our server, Allie, was great. It appeared as though she had gotten... More

My husband Peter and I ate dinner at Gypsy Sweethearts on Saturday, July 25. It was wonderful. The food was delectable and they accommodated my request to omit the pancetta from the potato gnocch. We met Tony, the proprietor, who was incredibly gracious. We were eating upstairs on the outside deck and it was unseasonably cool for Jily. Tony turned... More

We decided to dine at Gypsy Sweethearts based on our B&B recommendation and glad we did. The entrees, appetizers and cocktail selections were very good. We had the halibut (their signature dish) and various Mexican apps that were delicious. The service was superb and atmosphere quiet and peaceful (at least where we were sitting).Overall, a good choice for those wanting... More

I have been a patron of Gypsy Sweethearts since it opened in 1980. After an absence of several years from Ogunquit, my wife andI returned this July and am happy to report the quality is as high as ever. The menu offers a variety of options from small plates and tapas to excellent fish and steak. The atmosphere is quiet,... More

Top quality cuisine with variety of tastes. Perfect if you've had your fill of lobster rolls and fried clams like we had. We shared a few of the nuts and cheese dips with chips which was tasty. They also brought out fresh warm bread with olive oil that was so good! I had the pan seared scallops on greens that... More

We visit Ogunquit yearly, and have always liked Gypsy Sweethearts, but this year, we weren't as happy with the food. The atmosphere is still great, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We had the lobster bisque, which tasted okay, but for the price, there wasn't that much soup, and it was too soupy, and lacked fullness. My girlfriend... More

One day while we were out walking in Ogunquit, we met a woman walking her dog, who as it turns out, is a local resident. In the course of our conversation, she mentioned that we should really give Gypsy Sweetheart a try. So, on the evening of a rather rainy day, we decided to walk over to Gypsy and give... More

I can't explain why, but for all the times I have visited Ogunquit with my wife we have never ventured into Gypsy Sweetharts for a meal. What a mistake. This restaurant is a quiet, hidden gem that I can see becoming a must visit for us on every trip here. The restaurant is a converted old house with a covered... More
