A little pricey but excellent fresh food. A hidden gem

One of the staff members at the inn we were staying at suggested Roost for breakfast. I had the crab cakes eggs benedict with homefries...delicious. My fiance had the lobster omlette. The interior is rustic, welcoming and super clean. I would love to go back for dinner.

Loved the way the owners renovated this restaurant. Everything looked different from what it once was when it was the French restaurant. The wait staff were friendly and, knew the menu. The menu has something for everyone and, the meal was really, really delicious ! We plan to go back again when we visit Ogunquit.

The place is not ready to be open for business. Six of us at the bar & we ordered flat bread, which was a daily special. After an hour we moved to a table for dinner never received the flat bread special. They didn't put the order in but they charged us. Once we got to table they told us... More

No doubt the lobster was frozen and a bit past its time to be in a roll - also, the fries were horribly tasteless non-potato something or other. I do not mind at all paying $20+ for a lobster roll giving the market prices lately - however, do not serve me bad lobster or cheap non-potato fries. The slaw was... More

We appreciate your feedback! While I can only sincerely apologize about the setbacks experienced and that we were unable to meet your expectations, we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Currently, Lobster prices for freshly cooked and picked Lobster is $50 per lb and we are working hard to keep the prices at a figure that makes sense for... More

Roost Cafe in Ogunquit is a gem. It looks like a little cape house on the outside, but inside it's got cathedral ceilings and lots of warm wood. We sat in the bar, and even though they were clearly understaffed, the man who seated us and the bartender who took our order were friendly and upbeat. My husband and I... More

From the moment we walked in, we knew in an instant that they wanted to close . We had a reservation at 830. They should have called and told us to come earlier. The waitress was beyond annoyed. She gave us about 11 seconds to order a drink and then at the same time asked is what we wanted for... More

Went here for Sunday breakfast as part of the package from Anchorage By The Sea. Interesting menu and wonderful food. Rustic setting and a delightful fire in the fireplace on a cold morning. Service was good and the location was close to the hotel (within walking distance).

We visited Ogunquit in September and did the lobster thing out in Perkins Cove and were a bit underwhelmed with the restaurants there. But then we happened on to Roost, tucked into a curve on the main road through town. No, we didn't have lobster, but what we did have was fabulous. An amazing Cuban sandwich with succulent roasted pork... More

We just got back from a lovely evening at Roost. It's been snowing here, but that didn't stop us from venturing out for dinner. The ambience is cozy, and the staff were delightful. Because we are both gluten free, we can be kind of fussy about getting food that works for us--there were no worries here. Most of the menu... More

This is our favorite place for all sorts of occasions - last minute "date night," birthday celebrations, Mother's Day, "get-outta-town night," - year round it is a terrific venue with outstanding food, drink, and service. We've followed the owners through their prior establishments and this one is the best, by far. Hat's off to Rob and Aldo! My scallops were... More
