Went on a recommendation from a local resident. Not disappointed. Very good house Pinot Noir. Had the Manchego appetizer. Lamb burger was very good! Lobster roll was also good and fresh. Substituted salad for fries. Cozy atmosphere. Friendly service.

We had a Saturday evening reservation prior to the theatre. We were seated right away. Our server was difficult to get a hold of. The avocado fries with chipotle aoli was good. The pan seared duck was to be serve medium rare, but was very rare. The sauce was barely warm and had a shiny, gelatin-like, right out of the... More

Let's start with the fact that despite the name, and online descriptions, this restaurant is NOT French. We were told that the chef is new, which could have explained the apparently Cuban inspired menu items, which seemed out of place on a "bistro" menu. The food itself left quite a bit to be desired - my appetizer, described on the... More

On past ventures to Maine I would pass on Rt. 1 in the York area but never made it there. On my way to Marginal Way, I passed and the exterior looked so wonderful I had to go in. The inside is as inviting as the outside. I ordered the English Burger. Cooked to perfection (an overcooked burger is the... More

What a surprise. This has really maintained and surpased the quality of its predecessor. Judging by the perfectly cooked Cod. The kindness of the surver to change the presentation to fit our taste. What a great experience. We will come back next year.

Overall disappointment for how good is a meal when it comes out lukewarm and actually cool by the time you get half done? It is too bad since the taste was fine, but although cool eggs and cold potatoes may be OK on a hot July day at a picnic it is not OK when you want a hot breakfast.... More

We loved the atmosphere, service and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast. The lunch and dinner menus look amazing, so we will return to try both.

We chose this restaurant as my wife must follow a gluten free menu and Roost appeared to provide many options. Once we were there it was clear that they went above and beyond the typical gluten free options. They would adapt the majority of their menu options. It was like eating out used to be before the celiac diagnosis. Our... More

Let me be clear: the Roost is wonderful! And to think we almost missed it! My daughter and I had heard good things about Cafe Amore so we trudged down there the morning we were leaving Ogunquit, sad already to be going and hot from an unexpected heatwave. When the hostess blithely handed us a beeper and said 45-minute wait,... More

We recently visited Roost Cafe for the first time, and it definitely will not be our last. In our party, we had 4 adults and 2 children under the age of 4. Everything about the experience was exceptional. The food was out of this world. 2 of us had the specials that included a dish with scallops, and a dish... More
